"...If the government or law enforcement starts treating all anti-Tesla actions as criminal, peaceful protesters could find themselves facing consequences meant for extremists...Per the Attorney General’s Guidelines, the FBI doesn’t require a factual basis for a suspicion of terrorism to begin conducting physical surveillance, which includes taking photos of people, cars, and license plates, deploying informants to infiltrate a group, accessing private databases, and more. ..."
“It’s also important to understand that law enforcement in the United States is primarily intended to protect the property of the wealthy,” German said.
“Corporations in the United States are politically powerful and have access to elected officials and top law enforcement officials. And when their interests are challenged, particularly by protest, they want to present that as a law enforcement issue, rather than as legitimate public concerns about their corporate activities.”

Trump’s “Best Security People” Can’t Figure Out Basic Security
This hasn’t been a good week for those who believed that Donald Trump would bring in the “best, most competent” people around. Fresh off the revelation that a bunch of the top cabinet and security …Techdirt
To the surprise of precisely no one who isn't a credulous rube high on imperialism, settler colonialism, and weapons contractor bribes, Israel has started bombing children and houses again in Gaza. Naturally of course a Trump regime that wants to pave over Gaza and build luxury hotels and casinos for an obscenely wealthy, globetrotting ruling class if it can just find a way to get rid of all those pesky Palestinians, stands fully in support of resuming the US armed, funded, and politically protected genocide.
commondreams.org/news/israel-v…
Backed by Trump, Israel Shreds Cease-Fire Deal and Kills Over 400 Across Gaza
"A barrage of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday killed more than 400 people and left a fragile cease-fire agreement in tatters just over two months after it was reached, with Israel's prime minister pledging "increasing military strength" in an enclave already decimated by more than a year of bombing.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the Netanyahu government consulted with the Trump administration ahead of the latest Gaza bombardment. Leavitt expressed the White House's total support for Israel's attacks.
While Israel had been carrying out more limited deadly attacks on Gaza despite the cease-fire deal—including strikes over the weekend that killed at least nine—Tuesday's bombings were described as the "heaviest assault on the territory since the cease-fire took effect in January."
Speaking frankly, there are more detailed articles featuring a lot more atrocity porn available online, but I chose to highlight this short piece because the headline writer understood the importance of centering the Trump regime's full support for this monstrous, objectively illegal bullshit. The US government is supplying the bombs, funding the Netanyahu government, and actively praising Israel for resuming crimes against humanity; that makes the atrocities in Gaza Trump's genocide, the same as it made them Biden's genocide before him. None of this is lost on most media observers outside of the United States, but an American corporate media complex that has always supported the mass murder of Palestinians remains reluctant to center that knowledge, even if it hurts the fascist assclown currently calling their work "illegal" and threatening to come after them with the full force of the U.S. government.
Of course everyone in the media, American or international, is claiming to be "shocked" that Israel has willfully imploded the ceasefire, and telling you that you should be shocked too. Naturally however, that position too is a grotesque farce that ignores available evidence and reality itself. This may be the first large-scale bombing since Netanyahu agreed to pretend he cared about a cease-fire for a while, but Israel already resumed the genocide when it tightened the blockade of, and cut electricity to Gaza; a region that is more or less constantly in a state of humanitarian crisis because Israel has been conducting a war of extermination there and purposely starving the population inside for seventeen months and counting. Furthermore, all of this is pretty consistent with statements made by various high ranking officials in the Netanyahu government, who have openly flouted their intentions to break the cease fire and ethnically cleanse (by whatever means are necessary) the Palestinian people in Gaza. The fact that American corporate media rarely reports on these stated intentions, and is foundationally committed to credulously taking Netanyahu's word for it when he claims to be seeking peace while bombing hospitals and murdering babies, does not mean the larger US establishment is unware of these facts - just that they're hoping you are.
The fact is, Trump, his administration, and American arms manufacturers should be on trial for crimes against humanity as we speak, and the reality that he is not alone in that because committing genocide in Gaza is a largely bipartisan position in the American establishment does absolutely nothing to alter the situation.

As I've argued (with mixed success) on the other account, the Trump regime "Signalgate" scandal has political relevance for folks who want this fascist government to fail, even if you, like me, do not give one flying fuck about "national security." Trump's warmonger division willfully broke multiple laws, got caught lying about it, and currently look incompetent enough that they'd struggle to run a taco stand, let alone a government. This isn't breaking news to anyone who has been paying attention, but it has inspired the larger liberal establishment to finally make *some* effort to push back against the Trump regime, and I'd rather have them doing that than meekly accepting the boot; which is precisely why the entire fascist manufacturing consent machine in and around TrumpWorld is flailing so hard to justify the regime's actions and make this go away.
For whatever value Signalgate does (or doesn't) have in slowing the Trump regime's agenda down however, I think it says a lot about why we're facing down a fascist government requested by roughly 75M voters, that the "national security" discussion has taken overwhelming precedence over acknowledging that the attack on Yemen itself was unconstitutional, and the leaks also reveal the administration confessing to a war crime.
1) commondreams.org/news/us-strik…
A Reminder Amid Group Chat Outrage: US Strikes on Yemen Are Unconstitutional
"The advocacy groups Just Foreign Policy, DAWN, and Action Corps released a joint statement Thursday calling on Congress to take action to stop U.S. military action in Yemen by upholding "its sole authority to declare war under Article I of the Constitution and the 1973 War Powers Resolution (WPR)."
The chat messages sent between officials including Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz stunned the public and Washington insiders this week because they had accidentally also been sent to Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, but the three groups pointed out that they also included an admission from Vance that the strikes were not defensive—contrary to claims by President Donald Trump."
2) truthout.org/articles/democrat…
Experts: Leaked Messages Show Waltz Admitting to War Crime in Yemen Strike
"In an exchange after the strikes first hit, as shown in Wednesday’s leak, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz says that the U.S. had collapsed a building that one of their Houthi targets was supposedly inside, calling it “amazing.”
“Their first target — their top missile guy — we had positive ID of him walking into his girlfriend’s building and now it’s collapsed,” Waltz said. Per the screenshots, Vice President J.D. Vance responds, “Excellent.” CIA Director John Ratcliffe says, “A good start.” Waltz then replies with a fist emoji, a U.S. flag emoji and a flame emoji.
According to Yemen Data Project, the first strike killed at least 13 civilians and injured nine on the night of March 15, hitting north of the capital, Sanaa. Yemen Data Project says that this was the bombing deemed “excellent” by the vice president and “amazing” by Waltz.
The messages are “prima facie evidence of at least one war crime applauded by the people who conspired to commit it,” wrote Dylan Williams, Vice President for Government Affairs for the Center for International Policy (CIP), on social media."
To be clear, I'm not saying these crimes by the regime aren't at least coming up on the margins of the liberal establishment; I've seen a few Democrat politicians expressing these critiques, and brief discussions in even the mainstream corporate media have occurred around these topics. The problem is that the vast *majority* of people with a platform to bring these crimes to light simply don't care. We live in a society where illegal military actions based on the thinnest of pretexts, and war crimes against (particularly Muslim) civilian targets are so normalized that it just doesn't move the needle for a political and media establishment that helped normalize this monstrous shit in the first place. If you haven't figured out by now that one of major reasons the Trump regime is (mostly) succeeding in installing a fascist dictatorship in America, is the powers granted to the imperial presidency to protect "national security" and to fight a racist, quixotic "War on Terror," I'm going to have to ask you how long you've been in a coma. A society that empowers and tolerates crimes against humanity abroad under the auspices of "keeping us safe," is a society that will tolerate the same when their leaders invariably bring the violence back home.

Experts: Leaked Messages Show Waltz Admitting to War Crime in Yemen Strike
Vance said it was “excellent” that a strike collapsed a building. Thirteen civilians died, according to one count.Sharon Zhang (Truthout)
At this point I'm starting to believe the primary purpose of the sham ceasefire in Gaza, broken by Israel to continue a US-backed genocide of Palestinian people, was to allow US corporate media to catch its breath and reset to a position of trying very hard to ignore blatant war crimes against clearly innocent Palestinians. A United Nations investigation has revealed that the IDF executed 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, including a UN employee, in March 23rd; then tried to bury the evidence, including crushed ambulances, to hide this crime against humanity. Details of the murders make it clear that this activity was deliberate, and yet the portions of the mainstream western media that remain firmly pro-genocide have hardly registered any sort of outcry or calls for action.
1) theguardian.com/world/2025/mar…
Israel killed 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers one by one, says UN
“Seven days ago, civil defence and PRCS ambulances arrived at the scene,” the head of Ocha in Palestine, Jonathan Whittall, said in a video statement. “One by one, [the paramedics and civil defense workers] were hit, they were struck. Their bodies were gathered and buried in this mass grave.
“We’re digging them out in their uniforms, with their gloves on. They were here to save lives. Instead, they ended up in a mass grave,” Whittall said. “These ambulances have been buried in the sand. There’s a UN vehicle here, buried in the sand. A bulldozer – Israeli forces bulldozer – has buried them.”
Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, said that one of its employees was among the dead found in Rafah."
As an American, please let me once again remind you that none of these atrocities would be happening without US financial, material, and diplomatic support. We're subsidizing the Israeli government, we're shipping the IDF the bombs and weapons being used to exterminate Palestinians in Gaza, and it is by US diplomatic force that Western support for Israel even as it commits a genocide, remains strong, if somewhat less overt than it was at the start of this genocide. Trump (and Biden before him) could end this inhuman slaughter today if he wanted to; he just doesn't want to because killing brown people and taking their resources (beachfront property and natural gas, in this case) is a important business activity for the entire Pig Empire.
In an environment where the media is actively cultivating a numb complicity, and western states are either ignoring the massacres, or as in the Trump regime's case, openly celebrating them, it behooves all of us in the so-called West to reject these attempts to rewind time and protect the genocide. In the months leading up to the ceasefire, Western political leaders and media were on the backfoot as independent media, folks with Tik Tok accounts, protestors, and even everyday people refused to accept the complicity of silence and demanded action. This "reset" must not be allowed to continue while Palestinians in Gaza are murdered with impunity and the complicity of the larger Pig Empire; as noted by Ahmed Moor writing in the Guardian - which is sadly where I have to get my mainstream news about a US-enabled and supported genocide the Trump administration is happily paying for, because US media outlets are still trying to pretend none of this is real:
2) theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Israel executes unarmed Red Crescent paramedics with the west’s blessing
"Nor will global leaders intervene to end the mass murder which has been punctuated by this latest obscenity. Some of them – such as Emmanuel Macron, who called for a ceasefire, might appear to want to end the slaughter. After all, dead babies in incubators and paramedics in a mass grave are unpleasant garlands to wear. But 18 months in, they are too deeply implicated. Who can forget Ursula von der Leyen’s embrace of Netanyahu? Or Keir Starmer’s affirmation of Israel’s “right” to starve Palestinians in Gaza?
Today, those who are tasked with upholding international law have been co-opted by the Israeli leadership, whether they like it or not. The logic of gangland drug dealers and criminals – new members commit crimes to join, and are locked in – prevails.
So far from being complicit, US and European leaders are the authors of this latest atrocity by their Israeli colleagues in Gaza."

In writing about the Trump regime's fascist assault on foreign student anti-genocide protestors, a lot of what we talk about is the domestic social costs these authoritarian actions and a failure to oppose them produce. I don't mean to be callous, because injustice and repression against any part of the opposition to fascism, is injustice and repression that harms us all; to say nothing of the personal costs to the students targeted for having the audacity to think conducting an ongoing genocide in an open air concentration camp is morally wrong. If you want to know why the regime is pursuing these fascist, repressive policies however, and why the administration before them was happy to lay the groundwork that is today enabling Trump to target anti-genocide protests under the false banner of "fighting antisemitism," I must unfortunately conclude that the answer is "probably, because it's working."
How else can you explain political and military leaders in Israel all but admitting they intend to finish off the genocide they've been conducting against Palestinians in Gaza, without much notice in the American media environment, and amid a collapse in popular resistance to the genocide, even as polling indicates a strong shift in American sympathies away from Israel and its crimes against humanity in Gaza?
commondreams.org/news/israel-t…
'Only Hellfire': Israel Says Lifesaving Aid, Troop Withdrawal Off the Table for Gaza
"Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday that the U.S.-backed genocidal policy of blocking lifesaving humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip will continue, and that Israel Defense Forces troops will remain in the embattled Palestinian enclave indefinitely.
"Israel's policy is clear: No humanitarian aid will enter Gaza, and blocking this aid is one of the main pressure levers preventing Hamas from using it as a tool with the population," Katz said. "No one is currently planning to allow any humanitarian aid into Gaza, and there are no preparations to enable such aid."
I want to be clear, I'm not saying there's no active resistance to the genocide going on in America, only that the regime's fascist repression is contributing to a climate of fear that's suppression discussion about and resistance to Israel's crimes against humanity in the broader culture. And let's be fair here, the still quite bipartisan nature of support of *this* particular application of fascist terrorism in the American ruling establishment makes opposing Israel's genocide in Gaza perhaps one of the most dangerous acts of anti-fascism a person can undertake in this political moment. When Trump kidnaps a Maryland father and traffics him to a torture prison in El Salvador, the oppositional political and media apparatus in this country are quick to condemn him and demand action. When Trump starts black bagging student protest leaders and shipping them to nightmare jails in politically favorable court districts, that same establishment equivocates, says nothing at all, or sometimes outright supports that repression. Take for example former Biden antisemitism Envoy Deborah Lipstadt:
forward.com/news/712297/studen…
Student protesters being deported are not ‘martyrs and heroes,’ says former antisemitism envoy
"I’m not opposed to the administration rescinding the student visas of some of the people that they’re rescinding the student visas of,” she said. “But I just think it should be done properly, according to the laws of the country.”
So uh, you got that? The fascism is fine, but god-damnit there are *rules* people! Please keep in mind that this woman is one of the foremost authorities in the world on The Holocaust, so we can presume she knows she's protecting fascists to support a genocide. I assume, but don't know, that she holds no special place in her heart for the Klepto Kaiser, so I can only surmise that she's just a hardcore Zionist and a big fan of bombing children and hospitals.
Look friends, I know that this is a really bad time to ask people to stick their necks out to oppose a genocide, but Israel just bombed literally the last hospital in Gaza and it barely made the evening news. The regime, and indeed much of the larger ruling class establishment that supports settler colonialism, and profits from the genocide by various means, wants to create an environment where speaking out against the genocide in Gaza and Israel's settler colonial massacres is just criminal and subversive enough to stop most of us from doing it. This will then allow them to easily pick off a much smaller number of people who are brave enough and otherwise able to resist the genocide directly. It is vital that we counteract that by keeping the genocide on our lips, and our outrage about crimes against humanity in the discourse; they can't arrest us all - and Gaza, is running out time.

As an add on to the post above, if you don't think speaking out against Israel's genocide in Gaza and on behalf of the people being slaughtered there matters, then why is the Netanyahu government working so hard with multi-billion dollar social media companies like Meta to suppress pro-Palestinian speech online?
dropsitenews.com/p/leaked-data…
Leaked Data Reveals Massive Israeli Campaign to Remove Pro-Palestine Posts on Facebook and Instagram
"A sweeping crackdown on posts on Instagram and Facebook that are critical of Israel—or even vaguely supportive of Palestinians—was directly orchestrated by the government of Israel, according to internal Meta data obtained by Drop Site News. The data show that Meta has complied with 94% of takedown requests issued by Israel since October 7, 2023. Israel is the biggest originator of takedown requests globally by far, and Meta has followed suit—widening the net of posts it automatically removes, and creating what can be called the largest mass censorship operation in modern history.
Government requests for takedowns generally focus on posts made by citizens inside that government’s borders, Meta insiders said. What makes Israel’s campaign unique is its success in censoring speech in many countries outside of Israel. What’s more, Israel's censorship project will echo well into the future, insiders said, as the AI program Meta is currently training how to moderate content will base future decisions on the successful takedown of content critical of Israel’s genocide."
As I've noted elsewhere, it's very clear that the pro-genocide Pig Empire establishment used the sham ceasefire Trump supposedly brokered in Gaza as an excuse to reset the discourse and resume the genocide at pace. We've returned to a pre-2024 media environment of silence and minimization of crimes against humanity, particularly in America, and these folks are working overtime to keep you from talking about, and hopefully (for genocidal monsters) thinking about Gaza while Israel attempts to wipe out the Palestinians there before we wake up and realize what's going on.
The only way to fight this, is to keep talking about it, and resisting both the genocide and the US government's support for it. We've been here before and broke through the cone of silence; in fact that's the whole reason the ruling class establishment is trying to rewind the discourse around the genocide in Gaza to a pre-2024 state. We must not let them get away with it by contributing to that cone of silence.

I think folks who argue with me when I point out that stories which don't align with the interests of the investor class of rich people who own media companies are suppressed in corporate media, somehow forget that I simply consume so much "news" that I can literally feel a shift in coverage. Which is why this short blog by media critic Adam Johnson, which mathematically confirms, more or less, everything I've been saying about how Gaza has been driven from the mainstream discourse even as Israel's genocide ramps back up and US public opinion shifts against our client state, did not surprise me at all.

"Nowhere is the absence of urgency any more glaring than the total erasure of Gaza from the “agenda setting” Sunday morning news shows that both reflect and curate Washington political priorities for the week. In the 5 episodes each for the four Sunday News Shows—ABC’s This Week, CBS’s Face the Nation, NBC’s Meet the Press, and CNN’s State of the Union—for the weeks of March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13 and April 20, Israeli’s assault on Gaza, and the Trump administration’s full-throated support for it, has not been discussed or mentioned once. That’s 880 minutes of “agenda setting” debate, discussing, and reporting that did not see fit to mention the US support for what Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch both call an ongoing genocide."
So, just let that set in for a minute. In the time frame listed, Israel has committed a confirmed war crime by murdering 15 medics in cold blood, bombed the last functioning hospital in Gaza, instituted a total blockade on aid designed to starve Gazans to death, and its ministers have on multiple occasions bragged about Trump's support being instrumental for their plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians; and those are just the stories *I* covered but the vaunted "Sunday Shows" couldn't spare a minute for. An ongoing genocide in Gaza being aided an abetted by the US President who is also black bagging anti-genocide protestors in American cities and citing foreign policy concerns to justify it, simply did not come up.
If you're wondering why the "Sunday Shows" matter, it's because while very few people reading this watch them, pretty much everyone with power and influence in American politics does. With that having been noted however, it really doesn't matter because Gaza was barely covered in the mainstream nightly news either.
"Despite Israel killing almost 2,000 Palestinians since they broke the ceasefire on March 18, the subject of Gaza has barely registered a blip in the nightly news coverage as well. In the 78 episodes the three major network nightly news shows have aired, there’s only been two segments about Gaza: one 4 minute 17 second segment I noted in The Real News from March 26 on CBS Evening News, and another 1 minute and 44 second segment about the IDF killing 15 medics that aired on ABC’s World News This Week on April 3. In over 1,500 minutes of evening news from the three major networks since March 19 only 6 minutes, or less 0.4 percent, has been reporting on Gaza. NBC Nightly News has not covered the suffering in Gaza at all since March 20, but it did take time out on April 13 to do a 1 minute 46 second profile on an Israeli captive still being held in Gaza."
Surely, the newspapers were better, right? Well, if we're talking about America's paper of record, the New York Times - I wouldn't get your hopes up folks:
"Since March 20, The New York Times has run a total of three front page stories about Gaza out of roughly 220 total front page stories (two on April 6/April 8 about the IDF killing of medics in Gaza and one April 3 about Israel “Initiating Tactics to Hold Gaza Territory”) By way of comparison the Times has run 12 front page stories about Ukraine. “For Ukraine’s Sick Children, a War Within the War,” read one sympathetic front page headline from March 26. “Attack Devastates Ukrainian City,” read another on April 14. Front page coverage of Gaza, when it does exist, does not lead with Palestinian suffering or humanity but instead Israeli denials or sterile coverage of IDF “tactics.”
And finally, while this is just personal analysis, Johnson also thinks the shift has taken us back to pre-2024 media conditions when it comes to the genocide in Gaza; specifically citing the bipartisan support for the US-backed genocide in the American political establishment as the factor that allows the media to simply ignore the situation.
I'm not gonna bother saying I told you so; but I did.

As Trump and Israel Escalate Genocide in Gaza, Popular Media Continues to Ignore It
Under Biden, Gaza was excused, downplayed and natural disaster-rized. Under Trump it’s simply not a priority at all.Adam Johnson (The Column)
After seven weeks of bombing and a genocidal blockade of all humanitarian and food aid going into Gaza, the UN's World Food Program is now announcing that it has run out of food inside the strip; which will further exacerbate a humanitarian crisis engineered by the government off Israel as part of the genocide it's conducting against Palestinians in the enclave.
commondreams.org/news/gaza-foo…
UN Program Out of Food in Gaza as Israel Maintains Blockade
"No humanitarian or commercial supplies have entered Gaza for more than seven weeks as all main border crossing points remain closed," WFP said Friday. "This is the longest closure the Gaza Strip has ever faced, exacerbating already fragile markets and food systems. Food prices have skyrocketed up to 1,400% compared to during the cease-fire, and essential food commodities are in short supply, raising serious nutrition concerns for vulnerable populations, including children under 5, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and the elderly."
Over 18 months into a U.S.-backed military assault for which Israel faces a genocide case at the Interenational Court of Justice, WFP said that "the situation inside the Gaza Strip has once again reached a breaking point: People are running out of ways to cope, and the fragile gains made during the short ceasefire have unravelled. Without urgent action to open borders for aid and trade to enter, WFP's critical assistance may be forced to end."
While conditions are dire, WFP is prepared to keep feeding people, if Israel will allow aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave. The program highlighted that "more than 116,000 metric tons of food assistance—enough to feed 1 million people for up to four months—is positioned at aid corridors and is ready to be brought into Gaza by WFP and food security partners as soon as borders reopen."
The program called on "all parties to prioritize the needs of civilians and allow aid to enter Gaza immediately and uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law."
I need to stress here that this isn't an activist organization, or political representatives from Gaza talking here; this is a UN program that feeds refugees, the exploited, and folks in crisis situations. There is absolutely no reason to believe they're exaggerating the situation, which in turn means we're watching Israel commit a crime against humanity in real time. If this were anyone other than a US client state in the MENA, the entire American establishment would be able to see that there is no reason to continuously bomb Gaza while enforcing a nearly two month long blockade on food, supplies, and humanitarian aid, unless you're actively trying to kill innocent people. Which of course Israel is; they're committing a genocide, the Trump administration is happily paying for it, and a bipartisan US establishment awash in PAC and donor money, is quietly ignoring that genocide for political, financial, and ideological reasons.

Speaking before the International Court of Justice, the Palestinian ambassador to the Netherlands articulated what everyone who isn't openly lying to obscure a genocide already knows; Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war and its blockade of Gaza is an international crime.

Palestinian Envoy to ICJ: Israel Using Starvation as 'Weapon of War' in 'Genocidal Campaign'
"The siege has created conditions that are "incompatible with sustaining life or the continued existence of Palestinians in Gaza," Hijazi said.
The ambassador noted that the ICJ hearing was taking place to consider whether Israel is violating international law.
"It is not about the number of aid trucks Israel is or is not allowing into the Occupied Palestinian Territories, especially Gaza," said Hijazi. "It is about Israel destroying the fundamentals of life in Palestine while it blocks U.N. and other humanitarians from providing lifesaving aid to the population. It is about Israel unraveling fundamental principles of international law, including their obligations under the U.N. Charter."
"Starvation is here," Hijazi added. "Humanitarian aid is being used as a weapon of war."
My friends, I honestly don't know what more I can say here when the facts speak for themselves. Israel has totally blockaded Gaza, they're bombing the shit out of the people inside, and the military isn't allowing enough food, or seemingly any medical supplies or other lifesaving humanitarian aid through to the Palestinian people its bombing. As this clearly genocidal shit is going on, a US media is largely ignoring the crisis while apparently hoping all the Palestinians will be dead before their audience notices we're helping Israel exterminate or ethnically cleanse an entire people in Gaza.
And all the while a Pig Empire establishment continues to manufacture consent for the slaughter by pretending the Netanyahu government's motives are unknowable in the fog of war, despite the fact that cabinet ministers keep blurting out their intention to ethnically cleanse Gaza and we're watching what can only be an attempted genocide unfold on Tik Tok videos day, after horrifying day. History is going to be written about the cowardice, complicity, and depraved indifference to human life on display in the Pig Empire establishment here; the only question is will we as Americans survive our own fascist chickens coming home to roost long enough to help write it.

Well, I guess members of the Isareli government have repeated their intentions to permanently occupy and ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians enough times that even American corporate media has to care; the Guardian however is doing a much better job of honestly acknowledging what Israel's latest plan for Gaza ultimately means.
On the heels of the Netanyahu government's plan to displace the population of Gaza and consolidate territorial control over the occupied region, Finance Minister Smotrich said the quiet part out loud - Gaza will be completely destroyed, and Palestinians will (be forced to, presumably) "leave in great numbers for other countries" - essentially as refugees from a genocide the colonizer world refuses to acknowledge; but we can't expect Smotrich to admit that part too.
Israel's finance minister Bezalel Smotrich
theguardian.com/world/2025/may…
Gaza will be entirely destroyed, Israeli minister says
"An Israeli government minister has vowed that “Gaza will be entirely destroyed” as a result of an Israeli military victory, and that its Palestinian population will “leave in great numbers to third countries”, raising fears of ethnic cleansing in the occupied territory.
The declaration on Tuesday by the finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, came a day after Israel’s security cabinet approved a plan for Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which an Israeli official said would entail “the conquest of the Gaza Strip and the holding of the territories”.
The Israeli threats to seize control of the territory permanently has stirred global outrage.
“We strongly oppose the expansion of Israel’s operations,” the UK’s Middle East minister, Hamish Falconer, said. “Any attempt to annex land in Gaza would be unacceptable.”
The disturbing part here is that Smotrich's horrifying, genocidal statement is really only "news" because Pig Empire media is objectively pro-genocide and has caught a case of intentional amnesia about Israel's now-nineteen month long campaign to wipe out the Palestinian people in Gaza. Israeli ministers have been talking about emptying Gaza of Palestinians for months, the goddamn President of the United States has openly mused about turning the entire area into beachfront condos built by American companies, and as we speak Israel is actively engineering a famine in Gaza by blockading food and medical supplies into the occupied region.
Ethnic cleansing is just a more polite term for genocide, and even if you're too ignorant to understand that, International Courts have already ruled that Israel is plausibly committing a genocide in Gaza, and warrants have been issued for the arrest of Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Taken as a whole, the actions and statements of the Israeli government, both before and after it broke the ceasefire, have always indicated that their plan was to permanently occupy and "ethnically cleanse" Gaza; it is only through willfully complicit ignorance that clearly pro-genocide mainstream media outlets have refused to properly contextualize news from Gaza through the lens of Israel's obvious and openly articulated intentions to complete the ongoing genocide of Palestinians.
Unfortunately for the cowards, collaborators, and profiteers in our mainstream establishment however, the combination of Israel's announced Operation Gideon’s Chariots offensive, and Smotrich's crude, gleeful bluntness, have made it more or less impossible to pretend we don't know what the Netanyahu government is doing; even if that same mainstream establishment is still struggling to admit there can't be any good reasons to conduct "ethnic cleansing" regardless of their political alliances and personal racisms.

I don't know if most people realize the overall quality of foreign policy reporting in American media is generally pretty horrible. Part of this is because structurally under capitalism for profit media tends to align with US imperial objectives at the expense of the truth, part of it is that reading audiences aren't diplomacy wonks so the complex details of international relationships have to be shoehorned into some form of narrative, and part of it is that most state level negotiations are conducted in secret so you can print pretty much any bullshit you want and call it "reading the tea leaves" because nobody is going to hold you to account for being wrong later. Which isn't to say it's impossible to do good foreign policy reporting, just that it usually involves interrogating primary sources who aren't going to want to talk to you if you're critical of their decisions and (often false) arguments. In a modern, eviscerated media age that places profit and cultural relevance much higher than journalistic accuracy in their hierarchy of priorities, pretty much every corporate media news outlet employs at least one name-brand foreign policy analyst who writes opinion columns based on vibes.
I mention this because over the past week I've read at least a dozen "front page" opinion pieces, primarily from "centrist" analysts, arguing that Trump's recent MENA mutual hand-job tour indicates that Downmarket Mussolini has "abandoned" Israel, or at least "put Benjamin Netanyahu on notice." Typically, the evidence to support this conclusion will revolve around Trump's cozy relationship with Qatar, sealed by an open bribe in the form of a $400M dollar luxury jet, and the fact that Der Leader's top diplomat Steve Witkoff negotiated with Hamas to secure the release of U.S. citizen and Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, apparently without consulting Israel. The implication, which is sometimes even stated openly, is that this "deteriorating" relationship and one throwaway statement about starving Palestinians, means the Trump regime may be about to break with Israel's US-backed genocide in Gaza.
This is of course, absolute bullshit for one extremely obvious reason; namely that the Trump administration continues to openly greenlight Israel's genocide in Gaza. This is not supposition; between Trump's statements, the US government's actions, and the Netanyahu regime's responses it is abundantly clear that the project to ethnically cleanse Gaza and turn it into riverfront property is still on, and Der Leader is happy to trade tacit US approval for the genocide or removal of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel, to simply smooth over a MENA foreign policy initiative designed to increase Trump's global influence while enriching him and his family.
To demonstrate why I know this let's look at this detailed report by Jeremy Scahill who actually *did* contact a source for his foreign policy analysis; specifically a senior Hamas official.
dropsitenews.com/p/witkoff-ham…
Hamas Says Witkoff Personally Promised to Lift Gaza Blockade in Exchange for Edan Alexander
“It was a deal,” said Basem Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau who has previously engaged in direct talks with U.S. officials. He said the pledge was made by “Witkoff, himself.” In an interview with Drop Site, Naim said the agreement was: “If we release [Alexander], Trump will speak out thanking Hamas for its gesture, obliging Israel on the second day to open the borders and allow aid to come into Gaza, and [Trump would] call for an immediate ceasefire and to go for negotiations to end the war.”
“He did nothing of this,” Naim added. “They didn't violate the deal. They threw it in the trash.”
This is a detailed, granular piece of journalism that explores the genocidal behavior Israel is engaging in as it attempts to starve Palestinians to death while continually bombing hospitals and refugee camps, as well as why the things Trump claims he's actually doing to mitigate engineered starvation in Gaza are mostly bullshit. What's important for our purposes here is the knowledge that the Trump regime pretty much just straight up lied to Hamas in order to secure the release of Edan Alexander and some flattery for Der Leader, and the reality that both Israeli leadership and the President are *still* openly talking about ethnically cleansing Gaza!
Look, I have no problem believing that Netanyahu is irked at Trump for his embarrassing love affair with the Qataris, but the idea that the Klepto Kaiser is "abandoning" Israel even as his regime continues to ship Israel billions of dollars in weapons while mapping out a post-Palestinian future for Gaza, is either embarrassingly naïve, or an open admission that Palestinian lives have so little value to you that their extermination or exile doesn't rise to the level of discussion. In this media environment, it could be both.

Given the centrality of fascist attacks on the "Lügenpresse" to their overall nazi agenda, I am sympathetic to liberals who get nervous when I go after US media outlets for lying to smear critics of power; including some outlets being directly threatened by Trump. But sympathy and the ability to understand where those folks are coming from, doesn't change the reality that corporate media in the US has long since given up even the pretense of authentic journalism, and has willingly functioned as a propaganda vehicle for American imperial and colonialist objectives for pretty much its entire existence; and long before the rise of Trump. The fact that it's not always politically convenient to point this out, doesn't make it any less true, or any less damaging for our political and news discourse as a whole.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the US media's 19 month-long insistence that there are two equally valid "sides" in a discussion between genocidal warmongers and folks who oppose Israel bombing hospitals and refugee camps as part of an intentional project to conduct a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. At virtually every turn, this is a corporate media establishment that has defended a genocide, and viciously smeared anyone who opposed that genocide, while actively covering up for unhinged Zionists who celebrate murdering women and children while claiming basically every dead Palestinian is a terrorist or at least acceptable collateral damage in the fight to "end Hamas." Furthermore this behavior has continued well into the second Trump era, even as Israel engineers a famine to starve Palestinians to death in Gaza, and the Trumpenreich itself kidnaps and tries to deport foreign student anti-genocide protestors while seizing control of higher education institutes under the guise of fighting "antisemitism" that really just means "opposing Israel's genocide."
For an example of what I'm talking about, let's look at this story about that time the New York Times decided to ferret out the truth, and answer the question that's been on precisely no rational person's mind - "is popular children's entertainer Ms. Rachel an agent of Hamas?"
The New York Times Really Asked Ms. Rachel If She’s Paid By Hamas
"Here's something else you won't find in this New York Times article: the name of anyone in StopAntisemitism, a public irritant with no legitimacy whatsoever. It's bizarre that Tracy declines to identify the person behind the organization: Liora Reznichenko, a.k.a. Liora Rez, is the founder of StopAntisemitism. She spoke at a U.S. House committee in 2024. Her main activity consists of brigading private citizens and trying to get them fired from their jobs, while she hides her own identifying information; she has a focus on targeting any criticism of Israel. According to the Washington Post, StopAntisemitism is supported in part by the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation—Tracy refers to the organization, though not by name—as well as partially funded by the Merona Leadership Foundation, which in 2022 tax filings reportedly paid Reznichenko $125,633 and gave her organization approximately $270,000. This publicly available information failed to make it into Tracy's report.
To make it abundantly clear: Reznichenko does not provide any evidence that Ms. Rachel is funded by Hamas, either on her own website or to Tracy. The reporter's manufactured conflict primarily hinges on some Zionist crackpot with a Twitter account and an ongoing defamation lawsuit against her, and yet she receives the benefit of anonymity as well as a helpful ally. "Accurso’s activism has divided Jewish parents distraught by the relative dearth of posts about Israeli children, with whom many Jews worldwide feel a powerful connection," Tracy wrote. If I were his editor, I'd ask what this means. "Relative dearth"? "A powerful connection"? And this is unique, somehow? In another paragraph, Tracy wrote of Griffin-Accurso, "She did not dispute that she has posted more frequently about Gazan children." Why would she dispute it?"
Sweet mother of christ folks. For those of you who don't know, Ms Rachel is a children's content creator who really loves kids, and through her contacts with Palestinian children during again, an ongoing genocide, has started speaking out on her personal social media accounts on behalf of Palestinian child amputees and starving kids in Gaza. To the unhinged Zionist pro-genocide propaganda machine in America this means she must clearly be working for Hamas, and they've started a now weeks long smear campaign to declare Mrs. Rachel, basically a terrorist. Absurd you say; and indeed it is. But the Times, a paper that loves dead Palestinian kids and supports the genocide, decided to treat this as a "both sides" and "some are saying" story to help these maggots persecute, again, popular children's entertainer Ms. Rachel. For supporting Palestinian child amputees.
Excuse me while I vomit.
I don't want to keep harping on the point, but I think it's important to understand just how disconnected from reality a lot of foreign policy analysts in mainstream US media are right now; particularly when reporting on anything remotely related to the Trump regime's continued support for Israel's ongoing, and indeed accelerating, genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. In this instance, while a number of "centrist" (both left, and right leaning) pundits were theorizing that Trump's corrupt bribery tour of the MENA region (that notably did not feature a visit to Israel), signaled a shift in US Gaza policy, word was oozing out of a Trump regime with more leaks than a colander about a blatantly genocidal scheme to "move" over 1 million Palestinians to Libya. As this Truthout summary notes, that means the Trump regime is planning an ethnic cleansing operation; which as we've discussed before, is essentially a more polite way to say "genocide."
truthout.org/articles/trump-ad…
Trump Administration Reportedly Considering Plan to Move Palestinians to Libya
"A plan reportedly under consideration by the Trump administration to send up to one million Gazans to the divided country of Libya was met with criticism on Friday and Saturday, with several observers calling it part of a plan to carry out ethnic cleansing.
On Friday, NBC News reported that the Trump administration has broached the plan with Libya’s leadership, though no final agreement has been reached. NBC News’ reporting relied on several unnamed sources “with knowledge of the effort.”
“This is absolutely categorically an ethnic cleansing and sending people to Libya of all places is unconscionable,” wrote investigative journalist James Stout on Bluesky on Friday, in response to the reporting."
As the article notes, the Trump administration has denied that any such plans are in the works, but given the quantity of details NBC was able to report on, and the fact that it lines up with literally every single other thing Downmarket Mussolini and his minions have said about his plans or positions on Gaza, I see no particular reason to believe the fascist US government on this one. So, as he has at various times indicated he would do, Trump is working towards ethnically cleansing Gaza of Palestinians on behalf of his ally and ideological soulmate Benjamin Netanyahu, in what would absolutely be an act of genocide. This is pretty cut and dry; and by no means does it indicate a *positive* change in the Trump regime's Gaza policy.
So, how has pro-genocide, corporate American media reported on these alarming developments? Well, let's just say it hasn't been great. To demonstrate my point, let's look at the actual NBC reporting that the Truthout story was built around.
nbcnews.com/politics/national-…
Trump administration working on plan to move 1 million Palestinians to Libya
"The Trump administration is working on a plan to permanently relocate up to 1 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya, five people with knowledge of the effort told NBC News.
The plan is under serious enough consideration that the administration has discussed it with Libya’s leadership, two people with direct knowledge of the plans and a former U.S. official said.
In exchange for the resettling of Palestinians, the administration would potentially release to Libya billions of dollars of funds that the U.S. froze more than a decade ago, those three people said.
No final agreement has been reached, and Israel has been kept informed of the administration’s discussions, the same three sources said."
Okay, so you can see why I think the regime's denials are bullshit right? NBC knows way too much for this to be a fabrication; and so do we as observers who've been following Trump's actions and statements on Gaza. All is not well however, because NBC insists on framing even this obvious story about Trump and Israel teaming up to do ethnic cleansing, in a blatantly pro-genocide context. For example, you won't find the term "ethnic cleansing" in this story, even though that's what it's literally about. NBC also works hard to lend credibility to Trump and Israel's narrative that the Palestinians would leave for Libya willingly; a preposterous proposition when you consider all the violations they've already suffered to keep their home in Gaza, as a Hamas spokesman indicated.
So, at the same time Israel is accelerating its genocidal project in Gaza, and Trump is working on a plan for ethnic cleansing, dipshit foreign policy writers want you to believe he's turning against Israel's genocide because he made one comment about starving children and accepted a plane from Qatar? I think it's obvious Trump traded Gaza to Israel to smooth over his MENA grift vacation and he's muddying the waters to deflect blame now.
These hacks should be working at Foot Locker, not writing opinion pieces that deny a genocide.

I'm just going to admit that no matter how low my opinion of the IOF and the genocidal Netanyahu government is, I did not have Israeli troops firing "warning shots" at an international delegation of foreign diplomats from 24 countries, including the UK, Canada, and France who have all recently criticized Israel's ongoing and accelerating US-backed genocide in Gaza, on my bingo card.
commondreams.org/news/israel-s…
Outrage After Israeli Occupation Forces Shoot Live Rounds at Foreign Diplomats in West Bank
"Palestinian officials were briefing a group of more than 20 diplomats about the crisis in the illegally occupied West Bank—where Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed and wounded thousands of Palestinians including hundreds of children since October 2023 while pushing ahead with massive land theft and colonization—when they came under fire.
According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the delegation "deviated" from the route approved by Israeli occupation authorities "and entered an area where they were not authorized to be," prompting Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers to fire "warning shots to distance them away."
"The IDF regrets the inconvenience caused," the ministry added.
Israeli media reported IDF troops fired shots in the air. However, video footage of the incident appears to show soldiers aiming their guns and firing straight ahead in the direction of the diplomats as they scrambled for cover. Israeli officials have often been caught lying about the actions of IDF troops in Palestine.
The delegation included diplomats from the European Union and countries including Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, France, India, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and the United Kingdom."
It's time to grab your asses folks because the ride is about to get bumpy. The pro-Israel, pro-genocide propaganda machine is already working overtime to minimize this incident, but let me assure you that shooting at diplomats is an act of war and that shit is on video. Furthermore, even if you accept the Israeli Foreign Ministry's lies about "warning shots," they're still openly threatening the representatives of sovereign, even allied nations, for getting too close to evidence of their crimes and talking to refugees displaced by violent Israeli oppression. This is obviously an act of retaliation designed to intimidate foreign governments that are increasing pressure on Israel to end its genocidal campaign in Gaza and more broadly human rights abuses against Palestinians living under Israeli occupation; particularly the three G7 governments that formally condemned Israel's engineered famine in Gaza on Monday.
Look, I don't blame folks for being skeptical of the idea that Pig Empire politicians that have actively enabled Israel's genocidal war of extermination in Gaza for 19 months, actually care about Palestinian lives. They don't; but public opinion across pretty much all of the Western world has now swung so hard against "starving babies to death" that the very same governments that enabled this nightmare are trying to distance themselves from the slaughter they've helped create. Time is running out for team genocide and I realize that the Netanyahu government is jam-packed to the gills with emboldened, bloodthirsty racists, but this is an unprecedented act of global aggression that is going to live in infamy right alongside the genocide Israel is conducting against Palestinians in Gaza, and the multiple US governments who've made all this carnage and murder possible. Zionists have lost their fucking minds if they think they can bully the whole world at once; the tide *is* turning against Israel and Netanyahu, which is why they're trying to wipe out all the Palestinians in Gaza as fast as possible, before anyone works up the courage to actually try and stop them.
All of which might cause you to ask where exactly the US stands on all of this? Well, as it turns out US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee was only a few miles away, speaking to the media from Tel Aviv in Israel proper. Was Huckabee on hand to pressure Israel to stop slaughtering innocent Palestinian civilians, or starving Palestinian babies to death in Gaza? Absolutely not. The former US Senator was there to express his outrage at Canada, Britain, and France for condemning Israel, even as the settler colonial nation is murdering hundreds of Palestinians via airstrike, and starving women and children to death in Gaza.
npr.org/2025/05/21/nx-s1-54049…
So, let me just sum up here: the entire planet has turned against Israel's genocide forcing even Pig Empire governments to say something, the IDF is firing "warning shots" at foreign diplomats, and our ambassador to the region thinks *Palestinians* are like the Nazis from WWII? We're ruled by monsters who clearly think we're all stupid.

Despite what appears to be a broad, albeit primarily rhetorical, shift in mainstream establishment opinion about Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza across most of the Pig Empire, Very Serious People TM in the US remain inside a disturbingly bipartisan, pro-genocide unreality bubble. Inside that bubble it seems far more reasonable to discuss Trump's personal relationships with Israel's fascist PM Benjamin Netanyahu than it would be to talk about all the ways his regime has actively expanded on the Biden administration's open facilitation of that genocide, even as it continues to this very moment. Yet outside that bubble, across the broader planet and even in the US discourse that exists beyond corporate media and in pocket political actors, the reality that this is America's genocide too is inescapable.
Take for example the absurd "humanitarian aid" scheme the Trump regime and Netanyahu cooked up to pretend Israel wasn't trying engineer a famine as part of its broader, openly stated project to ethnically cleanse, occupy, and colonize Gaza, that was nevertheless treated as a plausible sign Trump was reigning Israel in by a credulous, pro-genocide US establishment and media complex. The moment the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" and the plan to distribute aid under the watchful eye of the IOF and U.S. mercenary contractors was revealed, everyone living in the real world, including UN aid officials and humanitarian relief experts immediately said this wasn't going to stop the intentional starvation and the whole thing smelled fishy. Folks who truly understood the nature of Israel's genocidal campaign against the Palestinians in Gaza however, spoke of a far darker possibility; that the reason to march Palestinians halfway across the Gaza strip and herd them like cattle into a heavily-surveilled area surrounded by soldiers, was to directly facilitated and further the genocide and mass displacement of Gazans itself.
Well, now that IOF forces have engaged in a massacre at one of these sham food distribution sites, actively engineered, supported, and protected by the Trump administration and our hired military contractors, I think we can chalk this one up as yet another L for team genocide and the US establishment unreality bubble. As Israel sprints towards pariah state status, and the international community is searching for an off ramp before public opinion drowns their formerly pro-genocide leaders, the Trump regime has responded by actively facilitating and even participating in a settler colonial massacre that's part of a larger ongoing genocide. Yet somehow, despite plenty of corporate media coverage of the incident, this reality largely escapes Very Serious People TM in the American discourse.

'The Witkoff Massacre': Hundreds Killed or Wounded as Israeli Forces Open Fire on Gaza Food Aid Site
"Health officials in Gaza and multiple witnesses at the site near the southern city of Rafah reported that "Israeli forces fired on crowds around a kilometer (1,000 yards) away from an aid site run by an Israeli-backed foundation," according to the Associated Press.
"The international community must act immediately and decisively to compel Israel to end its inhumane aid distribution mechanism in Gaza, following today’s massacre near a U.S.-backed aid centre south of Rafah, where Israeli forces killed or injured over 220 starving civilians," said the Switzerland-based Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor (Euro-Med), in a Sunday morning statement, which had personnel on the ground near the aid station."
Folks, we are literally luring starving Gazans out of hiding with the promise of food, concentrating them in pens, and then letting IOF soldiers shoot at them while calling that "humanitarian aid" and pretending we're doing something about an ongoing genocide. There are no words I'm comfortable uttering in this political climate that can adequately cover the outrage, revulsion, and loathing I feel towards a Trump regime, US corporate media, and a broader bipartisan American establishment that contains plenty of rich Democrats, that has brought this livestreamed genocide into being. Even now, even among those who at this late an hour have finally decided that TikTok videos of starving toddlers means this really is a genocide, are trying to couch this in terms of "Netanyahu's genocidal war" despite the fact that literally none of this would be possible with direct American material support, and a US corporate media complex devoted to manufacturing consent for murdering babies and bombing hospitals. Infuriating.
The truth however is that 19 months into an ongoing genocide, the propaganda bubble is starting to burst; you can't stop reality from being real, forever. We, the United States of America, own this genocide, and the whole world is watching while we pretend our government isn't an active participant.

I'm not about to turn this account into US political drama posting full time, but I'd like to take a moment to talk about the Linsdey Graham tweet about the Gaza flotilla and anti-genocide activist Greta Thunberg. If you haven't seen it, there's a screenshot in the Zeteo article below, but the short story is that Graham posted or quoted an image of Thunberg on the deck of a flotilla vessel, and wrote over top "hope Greta and her friends can swim."
Graham's behavior is of course disgusting and condemnable on its face. I want to talk about it today however because I think if you take the Senator from South Carolina's post in the proper context, it reveals quite a lot about where the US government, buttressed by a pro-genocide corporate media, stands in contrast to the rest of the world on the subject of Israel's genocide in Gaza.
Lindsey Graham's Disgusting Tweet About Greta Thunberg Is 'Brain Rot' in Its Truest, Most Vulgar Sense
zeteo.com/p/lindsey-grahams-di…
"The warped logic, wildly insulting to the intelligence or basic morals of the Americans he serves, is one thing. As with their comical hypocrisy, the refrain about the modern Republican Party that “the cruelty is the point” is baked into US politics. But the extent to which these threads undergirding American conservatism are put into total overdrive when it comes to Israel is jarring to any observer.
Because, to be clear: Graham, a US senator, paid by our taxes, is apparently calling for a government that’s killed at least 54,000 (and likely, far more) Palestinians to bomb a boat carrying food to a starving population (or, if I’m being incredibly generous, he is just hoping the ship sinks). It’d be one thing if Graham was operating in the already-broken framework of the draconianism we’re used to: egging on the detaining of protesters and cheering for the bombing of Gaza under the auspices of “eliminating Hamas.”
Think how far we’ve come: pointing out Israel’s bombing of humanitarians was a “blood libel.” Now, it’s a punchline.
Here, we reach the endpoint of it all: a Republican, sealed off in his grotesque, hermetically-sealed bubble, finding it not only appropriate, but actively helpful in his (and his Israeli friends’) PR crusade to buoyantly rejoice at the idea of 12 volunteers – including a young college-aged person – being bombed, and left to tread in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea."
There's honestly so much going on here that you could write a whole book about this tweet, and the political moment in America that produced it. There are literal layers of grotesque inhumanity behind a US Senator cheerfully wishing death on a world famous activist and her friends for the high crime of trying to feed people we're helping to starve out of existence. Graham's callous, if not gleeful disregard for human life speaks to a modern, cultishly-devoted to Trump Republican Party whose broader motto might as well be "we're for killing and starving people" at this point; a sentiment their voters seem to embrace so long as the leopards aren't eating *their* faces.
If you know that the previous flotilla food aid attempt involving Thunberg was unable to reach Gaza after being struck by weaponized drones widely-believed to be Israeli in origin, then Graham's tweet reads like an open threat by a US Senator on behalf of a foreign government conducting a genocide we're paying for; which at almost any other point in American history would be earth-shaking news, but passes more or less for business as usual in the American pro-genocide reality bubble. This would be appalling under any circumstances, but for Graham to post this at the very same time the US government under Trump is pretending it is forcing Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, while openly concentrating starving Palestinians into corrals for the IOF to shoot at, is next-level Third Reich-type shit; and the whole world knows it.
Which then brings us back to the larger point about Israel's genocide in Gaza, and failing international support for the Netanyahu regime and an IOF committing open war crimes and mass murder. At the precise time that the entire international order except the United States is running away from their prior support for Israel's genocidal actions because starving children to death on livestream is extremely unpopular, the United States is accelerating the body count and a US Senator is openly threatening a European peace activist on behalf of our openly eliminationist ally, for the high crime of attempting to feed starving people our govt would clearly prefer dead. The Trump regime and the broader pro-genocide establishment in America are out of step with the rest of the Pig Empire, and out of touch with reality; Israel isn't the only country flirting with pariah state status as the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza continues to unfold.

I don't know what it's going to take for a bipartisan pro-genocide media establishment to accept that Trump is definitely trying to help Israel finish off its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza before international sanctions come pouring it, if what we've already seen the Trump administration do hasn't generated that realization or level of honesty on its own. Take for example the regime sanctioning International Criminal Court judges for authorizing an investigation into allegations of torture conduced by US troops in Afghanistan, and issuing warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for crimes against humanity his government definitely committed, on livestream, over and over again.
commondreams.org/news/rubio-ic…
Rubio, Trump Accused of Criminal Obstruction for Sanctioning ICC Judges
"Two of the sanctioned judges authorized a probe of U.S. war crimes in Afghanistan. The other two green-lighted warrants for the arrest of Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, his former defense minister, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, including weaponized starvation and the murder of Palestinians—at least 54,607 of whom have been killed since Israel began its assault and siege of Gaza following the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The ICC's Assembly of State Parties—the court's governing body—said in a statement Friday that the U.S. sanctions are a "regrettable" effort to "impede the court and its personnel in the exercise of their independent judicial functions.
Kenneth Roth, a professor at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and former director of Human Rights Watch, on Friday accused Trump and Rubio of "obstructing justice under Article 70 of the Rome Statute," the treaty establishing and governing the ICC."
As the numerous human rights officials and observers in this article noted, it's pretty much impossible to see Rubio's actions here as anything other than a flat rejection of international law, in the service of protecting American's presumed "right" to commit war crimes, and our ally Israel's presumed "right" to conduct an ongoing genocide in Gaza. If the larger pro-genocide US establishment were merely duped by anti-terrorist sentiments, Israeli propaganda, and the fog of war, this should be a moment (one of many) where they turn and look at each other to ask "Hans, are we the baddies?" Even at the height of the War on Terror, similar legal criticism of the Bush regime promoted widespread discussion about the legality of what we were doing in Afghanistan and Iraq, even if it did little to stop our disastrous imperialist forever wars. Instead, Rubio's ongoing efforts to demonize and sanction international court judges barely rate a blip on the mainstream media radar screen as the genocide in Gaza rages on.
Folks, we *are* the Nazis history was trying to warn us about; and that couldn't be any clearer now that reality TV Nazi Trump is the one enabling Israel's genocide in Gaza instead of dotard weepy Zionist Joe Biden. The media and opinion-makers in our discourse aren't living in a cave; they know all the same things you do about how Trump is ensuring as many Palestinians die as possible before Israel starts facing nation-altering consequences for its crimes against humanity. What they, and the foreign policy goblins in the Trump administration are all clearly hoping, is that by stringing you along with a "will he or won't he game" about Downmarket Mussolini's willingness to allow the genocide to happen, Israel can kill enough Palestinians to allow facts on the ground to render the debate about stopping the genocide irrelevant.

Unfortunately, I am but one solitary analyst who specializes in writing about fascism and class war, so there's a limit to how much blow by blow analysis I'm going to be able to provide here as the Trump regime openly moves the US into a war with Iran. Given the sheer amount of bullshit and propaganda swirling around the discourse however, I feel obligated to point out key events indicating that Trump and the larger regime are already at war with Iran, and now they're just manufacturing consent for a decision I am near-certain they've already made.
Take for example news that US Vice President JD Vance was on social media preaching faith in Trump's "decision" about a war with Iran. There's just one problem, legally-speaking going to war with Iran isn't actually the president's decision.
commondreams.org/news/jd-vance…
JD Vance Falsely Claims Decision to Make War on Iran 'Belongs to' Trump
"In a lengthy post on the social media platform X, U.S. Vice President JD Vance urged Americans to "trust" President Donald Trump to make the right decision about potential war with Iran—but progressive observers noted that Vance's 374-word exposition was based on an entirely false premise: that the president has the authority to unilaterally decide to take military action against a foreign country.
"If it involves military action, that decision belongs to Congress, which has not authorized war against Iran," said Matt Duss, a former foreign policy adviser to U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and executive vice president at the Center for International Policy. "A former senator should know this."
I think it's pretty obvious that Vance is speaking primarily to the Swine Emperor's winger base here; after all, it wouldn't do much good to ask American liberals who loathe both Trump and Vance more than ass cancer to put their "trust" in the Klepto Kaiser's Solomon-esque wisdom in delicate matters of foreign policy. If we assume that he is in fact talking to the fascist American right who voted for Trump here, the obvious implication is that he's trying to smooth over a decision he knows isn't going to make the America First coalition happy, and I think we can all guess what that decision is - officially joining Israel's attack on Iran.
Naturally of course, you know and I know that Trump can't legally just walk us into a war with Iran, but have you seen any signs that this is stopping him from doing so yet? Vance's argument that the decision to go to war with Iran is Trump's and Trump's alone, strongly reflects the fascist Trumpenreich regime's views on executive branch power, and this government has a long pattern of signaling they believe Trump can do something outrageously illegal, doing it regardless of the law, and then fighting like hell in court about later. Well, in this scenario, "later" is going to be "after we've already attacked Iran" so being 'right" does opponents of this war no good. Furthermore, the Swine Emperor himself absolutely does not seem to give a fuck what the US Constitution says and is actively involving America in Israeli's illegal assault on Iran regardless of what anyone says about it. Do you sincerely think that when he gives the order to fire up our B-2 bombers and drop bunker busters on Iran's nuclear facility at Fordow, the Air Force is gonna say "hold on Chief, I need to hear what Chuck Schumer has to say about this first?" Absolutely not.
Trump is threatening Iranian officials and speaking as if he's already at war with Iran. Simultaneously, the Vice President is on social media telling the regime's fascist base to have faith in their cult-of-personality nazi messiah's judgement to make a decision that's not even legally his to make. The US establishment and Western media can pretend all they want, but the reality is that Trump is dead fucking serious about this and as far as he's concerned, we're already at war with Iran. And in the heart of the Pig Empire, armed with the Imperial Presidency, it likely doesn't even fucking matter what anyone else thinks.

It had been my hope that those of you too young to remember Mike Huckabee as Governor of Arkansas, would be spared from having to come to grips with the insane bullshit this sociopathic fundie fascist believes in any meaningful way. Unfortunately, because Trump makes everything shitty about American politics infinitely worse, Huckabee is now the US Ambassador to Israel at the exact time we're kinda maybe sorta already joining them in a war against Iran. This gives him a position of outsized importance right now, and provides him with an opportunity to advise President Trump at what may well be the most critical moment in American politics since Bush (disastrously) declared war on Iraq. What sage words of stately wisdom is Mike providing the Swine Emperor at this volatile moment? As it turns out flattery, messianic end times nonsense, and encouragement to fucking nuke Iran. No, really.

Huckabee Suggests Trump Should Nuke Iran, Follow Guidance From “Heaven”
"US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has suggested to President Donald Trump that he should use a nuclear bomb against Iran, urging Trump to listen to the voice he will “hear from heaven” and follow its guidance in making decisions about Israel’s war on Iran.
In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump posted a screenshot of the lengthy text he says was sent to him by Huckabee, an evangelical and Christian Zionist who Trump praises as a “Great Person!”
In the text, Huckabee says Trump’s current decision on whether or not to involve the U.S. further in attacks on Iran is akin to the decision President Harry Truman faced in 1945 — when Truman dropped two atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Japan and decimating the cities."
Folks, I don't want to be accused of being a foot solider in the (totally made up) "War on Christianity" but perhaps it's not a great idea to put people who believe we need to herd all the Jewish People into Israel, and then blow it up so Jesus can come back and save white Christian nazis from eternal hellfire, in charge of anything important. And you're going to tell me that I'm being ridiculous because Huckabee is only the Ambassador to Israel, but I will respond by reminding you that this is what virtually all evangelical Christian Zionists believe and that includes powerful folks like Senator Ted Cruz, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among many other influential fundie nutjobs in and around the Trump administration. All of which of course is to say nothing of Huckabee's apocalyptic vision of the future, or his attempts to cast Trump in the role of a literal messianic figure. I'm listening to folks on my TV talk about the evils of "fundamentalist clerics running Iran" and the US Ambassador to Israel is out here telling Trump that God himself is gonna tell him to turn Iran to glass at any moment. Are you people fucking kidding me? We're gonna take foreign policy advice from people who're big worried about Satanic possession and witchcraft in the year 2025?
Regardless of whether or not you accept my premise that Christian Zionism itself should be disqualifying for all government service, you have to admit that this is an absolutely fucking insane thing for an American diplomat to say while we're on the verge of a war with Iran that the Trump regime seems to actively preparing for; and for Lindsey Graham, a US Senator, to agree with him that we should fucking nuke Iran, is mind-numbing, War on Terror-level, xenophobic, imperial bullshit. All of these people should be removed from office fucking immediately; and that goes double for Mike Huckabee.
Why? Well I have some news for Mike. His job? Is to represent the UNITED STATES of fucking AMERICA in Israel. His job is not to represent Benjamin Netanyahu's case for making his war, our war, on the international stage. There are fucking governments that would consider what Huckabee just said here treasonous; and they would not be entirely wrong to do so. I do not give one flying fuck about American national security, but if my news is any indication, a great number of Very Serious People TM in our society do, and if that's the case our Ambassador to Israel needs to be reminded who he actually works for.
Of course, none of that is going to happen; indeed it barely even registered in mainstream Western media that Huckabee just called on Trump to literally nuke Iran at all. A bipartisan, mainstream American establishment that has wanted a regime change war in Iran every waking moment since 1979, is so close to what they desire that they can literally taste it - and if they have to put up with fundie end times prophecy, a little fascism, and some light treason to get it, so be it.

As Trump drives the US towards a seemingly inevitable direct attack on Iran, if not a full blown regime change war, it's worth asking an important question; who exactly is it that wants an American war with Iran? The simple answer to that question is "the American ruling class" and the long answer, which includes a vast network of wealthy donors, Christian Zionist political actors, and a military industrial complex that stands to make a literal killing of another forever war in the MENA, is somewhat beyond the scope of the post I'm making here. Perhaps the better question to ask right now is "who *doesn't* want a US war with Iran" and the answer to that is "literally everyone else in our society" - including a slim majority of Trump voters who presumably are not wealthy Zionists or arms manufacturers.

Not Just Progressives: Over Half of Trump Voters Oppose US War on Iran
"While it is widely known that American progressives overwhelmingly oppose the war on Iran at which President Donald Trump is increasingly hinting, new polling published Tuesday revealed that a thin majority of respondents who voted for the Republican president are also against U.S. involvement in the widening Israel-Iran war.
According to the Economist/YouGov survey of 1,512 U.S. adults conducted between June 13-16, 60% of all respondents oppose U.S. involvement in the war, while just 16% supported military action and 24% were unsure. Among those who voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris for president last year, 71% opposed war on Iran.
So did 53% of Trump voters. In fact, a majority of respondents across all gender, race, age, and income categories opposed military action against Iran."
Frankly, I don't really have a lot to add here. The article goes on to discuss other targeted polls, but they too show that literally nobody in the voting base, which is of course comprised primarily of labor class Americans, across virtually every possible category of voter, wants this war. If this happens, it's going to be because warmongers, rich people, and folks who would sacrifice the planet to preserve the Pig Empire colonial outpost that is Israel, want it to happen, and for no other reason.
I mention this because this is not my first rodeo kids. I know how the Pig Empire, and Amerikkka in particular manufacture consent for war, and I'm watching it happen all over again before my very eyes. If this goes as sideways as I fear it might, the Very Serious People TM are going to pretend that Americans were braying for war, and "we" are all in this homicidal shitshow together. It's not true, and you need to hold on to what is real in the barrage of lies and emotionally manipulative propaganda these folks are going to bombard you with, to convince you this is an "us against them" moment.
Nobody but our ruling class, wants a war with Iran.

Speaking of important signs the Pork Reich is preparing for war on an extremely short timescale: how else do you explain Trump throwing his own DNI, Tulsi Gabbard, under the bus to assert that he was pretty sure Iran was on the verge of manufacturing a nuclear weapon? This is of course despite a March annual assessment by UIS intelligence stating Iran was not even trying to make a nuclear weapon, and was at least three years away from being able to do so.
theguardian.com/us-news/2025/j…
Trump brushes off US intel reports on Iran to align himself with Israel
"Tulsi Gabbard, the US director of national intelligence, delivered a concise verdict during congressional testimony this March: the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and supreme leader Khomeini [sic] has not authorized the nuclear weapons program that he suspended in 2003”.
As he rushed back to Washington on Tuesday morning, Donald Trump swatted aside the assessment from the official that he handpicked to deliver him information from 18 US intelligence agencies. “I don’t care what she said,” said Trump. “I think they were very close to having one.”
Trump’s assessment aligned him with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, who has warned that Iran’s “imminent” plans to produce nuclear weapons required a pre-emptive strike from Israel – and, he hopes, from the United States – in order to shut down the Iranian uranium enrichment program for good."
Speaking frankly, I couldn't give a single rat's ass about the palace intrigue going on in isolationist wing of Trump's America First coalition. If those nazis were dumb enough to convince themselves the guy who refused to pull us out of Iraq or Afghanistan, and assassinated Iranian general Qasem Soleimani to try and start a war that would boost his 2020 election prospects, actually gave a flying fuck about their faux anti-war rhetoric, they are absolute fucking rubes and get what they deserve. Of far more interest to us here is the apparent isolation of Tulsi Gabbard; she was nowhere to be seen as key Trumpenreich war cabinet officials met at Camp David last Sunday and Trump's familiar pattern of shutting out minions who say things that are inconvenient for his agenda seems to be in full effect. It might have even caused Gabbard to have some kind of breakdown, because she recently vague-posted on social media about the impending threat of nuclear war, although it was unclear who she felt represented that threat most.
Even more telling however, has been the Trumpenreich's embrace of Israel's false propaganda narrative of an Iran on the verge of assembling a nuclear bomb. An embrace notably being conducted by both formerly anti-interventionist Trump minions in the Pork Reich, and key warmongers in the Swine Emperor's military command.
"Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, the head of US Central Command who has forcefully campaigned for a tougher stance on Iran, told members of the armed services committee in the House of Representatives last week that Iran could have enough weapons-grade uranium for “up to 10 nuclear weapons in three weeks”.
Yet a CNN report on Tuesday challenged that claim. Four sources familiar with a US intelligence assessment said that Iran was “not actively pursuing a nuclear weapon” and that the country was “up to three years away from being able to produce and deliver one to a target of its choosing.”
Folks, the intelligence on Iran's nuclear capabilities didn't change, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been claiming they're on the verge of building a nuke since at least 1992, if not longer. Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program, they aren't in any danger of building a nuclear weapons program anytime soon, and Trump is simply embracing Israeli intelligence's lies to manufacture consent and further his political objections. You don't need to manufacture consent for an attack you don't intend to conduct, or a war you don't want to fight. Thus, the obvious conclusion here is that the Swine Emperor wants a war with Iran, and his fascist flunkeys are working to deliver on that desire for their Führer. Tulsi Gabbard appears to have gotten caught in the crossfire, but the Christian Zionists and assorted other corpse farmers in the regime don't really care because she's already served her purpose for Trump; convincing absolute fucking muppets who don't read the newspaper that Trump is an anti-interventionist president who would end the "forever war" era of American politics. Sucker fascists fucked around, and now, unfortunately we're all gonna find out - at least if Trump gets his way here.

Trump brushes off US intel reports on Iran to align himself with Israel
President has dismissed verdict by handpicked spy chief, Tulsi Gabbard, that Iran is not developing nuclear weaponsAndrew Roth (The Guardian)
I spoke about this a little bit on my personal account, so I'll try to this quick. If you're trying to figure out why Trump hasn't *already* declared the attack on Iran he so clearly desires to order, recent news that taking out Iran's nuclear facilities won't be a simple as a short B2 bombing run with bunker buster bombs, may provide a clue.
theguardian.com/world/2025/jun…
Trump caution on Iran strike linked to doubts over ‘bunker buster’ bomb, officials say
"But the defense officials who received the briefing were told that using conventional bombs, even as part of a wider strike package of several GBU-57s, would not penetrate deep enough underground and that it would only do enough damage to collapse tunnels and bury it under rubble.
Those in the briefing heard that completely destroying Fordow, which Israeli intelligence estimates to go down as far as 300ft (90 metres), would require the US to soften the ground with conventional bombs and then ultimately drop a tactical nuclear bomb from a B2 bomber to wipe out the entire facility, a scenario Trump is not considering.
The assessments were made by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), a component of the defense department that tested the GBU-57, as it reviewed the limitations of US military ordinance against a number of underground facilities."
In some respects, this Guardian piece is exactly the type of war porn imperialist marketing garbage I don't believe should be printed in public newspapers, but I'm sharing it here because it tells us a lot about the nature of the war Trump is considering launching, and the conduct of our "ally" Israel, who just started a war with Iran they can't "win" without us. The background you need to understand here is that the Israeli PM wants Trump to use "bunker busting" bombs only the United States has, to destroy an underground Iranian nuclear facility built into the side of a mountain, called Fordow. Launching such a strike would of course immediately result in the US being *officially* at war with Iran, but it likely appeals to the Swine Emperor because it does not involve the deployment of ground troops or tactical nuclear weapons we shouldn't ever use under any circumstances.
Netanyahu has assured Trump that American B2 bombers dropping bunker buster bombs will destroy Iran's nuclear program entirely, and so have all the anti-Iran warpigs in Trump's government or personal orbit. There's just one problem: it's almost certainly not true. The US military says the GBU-57 bomb (the bunker buster) can penetrate depths up to 60 meters; Israeli intelligence openly says the Iranian facility at Fordow goes as deep as 90 meters (a meter is kinda like a yard, in American.) It also sounds like we have no idea how dropping it on the side of the mountain will affect the results of a bombing run on Fordow, but it doesn't sound like it'll be good. Furthermore, according to at least one military expert, it's not even clean dropping bunker busters would actually set the (nonexistent if our intelligence agencies are to be believed) Iranian nuclear weapons program back all that much.
"It would not be a one and done,” a former Dtra deputy director, retired Maj Gen Randy Manner, said of the GBU-57’s limitations, adding that Fordow could be quickly rebuilt. “It might set the program back six months to a year. It sounds good for TV but it’s not real.”
I don't know about you, but literally nothing about "dropping a tactical nuke" sounds like a good idea to me, and this whole thing sure seems like a well-crafted scheme to use American troops on the ground in Iran to topple a regime Christian nationalists in the Trump administration, a bipartisan swathe of US warhawks, and the Israeli government have wanted to take out for decades. Given the access to intelligence that everyone involved here has, from Netanyahu to guys like Tom Cotton, I'm pretty sure the shitty math behind a bombing run on Fordow is not news to them, but they're encouraging Trump to give it a try anyway. I'm not a mind reader, but it sure does seem like the anti-Iran wing of the Trump regime, and the government of Israel are trying to walk Trump into a forever war against Iran on purpose, by promising our absolutely moronic fascist president a quick and easy victory that casts him as *the* hero for the Pig Empire.
Folks, I can't stress this enough: Iran is not building nuclear weapons. The Kelpto Kaiser's own DNI Tulsi Gabbard recently reported as much and that Iran is at least three years away from being able to do so if the government decides to give it a try. There is absolutely no valid reason for Trump to bomb Fordow, but the fact that doing so is on paper a fool's errand speaks strongly to what these bloodthirsty warpigs are trying to walk you and your kids into as we speak. After all, it won't be Barron Trump getting drafted.

There are of course, no circumstances "where you have to hand it to the Nazis" but I must confess that if Trump's stated goal is keeping everyone confused about what god awful shit he's trying to pull off in the war touched off by Israel's unprovoked attack on Iran, consider me successfully baffled. For example, the White House announced today that we can expect Trump to decide whether or not to attack Iran in the next two weeks. What does that mean? I have absolutely no idea; the White House is not a reliable narrator and even in this statement they're implicitly arguing the President has the power to drag us into a war with Iran without consulting Congress. Would that even matter? Somehow I doubt it, between the GOP majority and a whole lot of pro-genocide AIPAC-funded Blue Dog Democrats, I suspect the Swine Emperor would get his permission slip regardless, even after the fact.
So what's more reliable than the intentionally deceptive ravings of a septuagenarian nazi, or his latest Mouth of Sauron, Karoline Leavitt? How about leaks from inside the government that the US military has already drawn up a plan of attack for an assault on Iran, the Klepto Kaiser has already approved it, and the only thing the American war machine is waiting on is the order to launch from Trump himself. An order which Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has already stated the Pentagon would obey regardless of any actions taking by Congress.

Trump Reportedly Greenlights Plan for US Attack on Iran Without Congressional Approval
"President Donald Trump is set to meet with top advisers in the White House Situation Room Thursday morning in the wake of reports that he has privately approved plans for a U.S. attack on Iran, a development that comes after days of pressure from Israeli officials and Republican war hawks in Congress to intervene in the war that Israel launched last week.
The Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday that Trump told senior aides that he "approved of attack plans for Iran, but was holding off on giving the final order to see if Tehran will abandon its nuclear program."
"While Trump weighed his decision, the U.S. military continued to move forces to Europe and toward the Middle East, including tanker planes to refuel aircraft in flight, warships capable of shooting down ballistic missiles, an aircraft carrier battle group, and advanced F-22 air-to-air fighters, which flew Wednesday to a base in Britain," the Journal observed.
CBS News also reported that Trump "approved attack plans on Iran Tuesday night."
In the interests of absolute transparency, I should note that Trump has directly denied the Wall Street Journal report this story is about in his typically charming way, but I see no particular reason to believe him at any time, let alone when he's openly admitting he's being cagey about a war with Iran to confuse his "enemies." The Journal's reporting seems far more consistent with the open movement of ships and materiel the American military is conducting, and it's very clear the information was coming from inside Trump's inner circle, or the Pentagon itself. This is almost certainly real, which regardless of what you or I may think Trump's ultimate intentions are, means we're a brainwormed sociopathic fascist's snap phone call away from dragging *ourselves* into another MENA forever war, this time in Iran.
Finally, in terms of trying to read the tea leaves coming out of the White House because that's literally all we can really do while Trump dangles the most powerful military apparatus on the planet on a string over our collective heads, don't sleep on the company Trump is reportedly keeping these days.
"Politico reported Wednesday that "Trump, who criticized his predecessor for allowing new wars to break out on his watch, is increasingly listening to a small group of Iran hawks who have been pushing to go tougher on Tehran."
"Trump has become more receptive to arguments by those advocating more military engagement, including Gen. Michael 'Erik' Kurilla, who leads Central Command, as well as Republican senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Tom Cotton of Arkansas," the outlet noted."
Please do keep in mind that while I detest the common style of "Trump-whispering" articles in the mainstream media about the Swine Emperor's thoughts and motivations, they have produced a lot of evidence that Der Leader is not exactly a bold independent thinker and thus watching which minions are in close proximity to him at a given moment, can often help you predict some of Trump's actions. I probably *could* think of a worse three people for Trump to be hanging around with right now for those of us who don't want more US imperial violence and endless war, but it would be difficult.
Analysis isn't prophecy, but a betting women would put her chips on war, given the available evidence.

Trump Reportedly Greenlights Plan for US Attack on Iran Without Congressional Approval
"Right now, the most effective thing you can do is flood Congress with calls to show that the American people don't want to go to war with Iran," said the advocacy group Demand Progress.jake-johnson (Common Dreams)
One of the lessons I learned from the War on Terror and US invasions of both Afghanistan and Iraq, is that it's important to talk about the manufacture of consent for war in real time, no matter how obviously false, or rooted in motivating reasoning, the propaganda and arguments that manufacture that consent may seem to you. Long after we admit our imperial adventures are slaughterhouse catastrophes, everyone will remember the big lies, and sometimes even the big liars in the media who told them, but the reality is that the primary tool by which an always pro-war establishment manipulates public opinion to justify imperial violence is not the big lies, but an all pervasive environment of little lies, acts of framing, and the creation of a perceived mass consensus around "common sense" arguments for war rather than factual analysis. Colin Powell didn't convince Americans to support the invasion of Iraq by shaking around a vial at the UN, it was the thousands upon thousands of news stories, articles, and presentations in our discourse that portrayed Iraq as the source of all evil in the world, and the idea of *not* attacking Iraq as the unreasonable position, that did the deed in the end.
I mention this because as this article by Belén Fernández writing for media watchdog FAIR notes, imperialist corporate media in America is performing Olympic-level mental gymnastics to flip victim and aggressor in stories about Israel's completely illegal and unprovoked attack on Iran. A burgeoning war the US President is currently threatening to embroil America in despite the overwhelming wishes of its people.

Working Hard to Justify Israel’s Unprovoked Attack on Iran
"Imagine for a moment that Country A launched an illegal and unprovoked attack on Country B. In any sort of objective world, you might expect media coverage of the episode to go something along the lines of: “Country A Launches Illegal and Unprovoked Attack on Country B.”
Not so in the case of Israel, whose special relationship with the United States means it gets special coverage in the US corporate media. When Israel attacked Iran early last Friday, killing numerous civilians along with military officials and scientists, the press was standing by to present the assault as fundamentally justified—no surprise coming from the outlets that have for more than 20 months refused to describe Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as genocide."
I like to share the media studies FAIR publishes because they're generally well sourced, and extremely concise; this article is no exception. The author looks at three pro-Israel propaganda arguments in particular, woven throughout corporate American media stories about the unprovoked attack, which as I've mentioned before, is almost certainly a literal fucking war crime. Specifically she examines the argument that Israel's illegal attack on Iran was pre-emptive, that being attacked by Israel is actually saving Iranians somehow, and arguments that Israel's attack on Iran echoes its (also illegal) attacks on Lebanon, which are magically transformed into a good thing in this narrative.
Virtually all of these propositions are of course utterly absurd. A "pre-emptive" strike is literally just starting an illegal war, just like it was when Bush attacked Iraq under the same logic. The idea that Iranians are thanking Israel for killing civilians to punish their government is some jingoistic absurdity. And Israel's activities in Lebanon were themselves another illegal war and dare I say, terrorism. Literally none of this makes any sense unless you're high on Zionist propaganda released directly by the Netanyahu government, and yet Fernández found reporting in corporate mainstream media outlets like the Associated Press, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and ABC all making one or more of these absurd arguments to justify Israel's again, unprovoked, illegal attack on Iran.
My friends, please let me remind you that Israel is a US client state, and could not prosecute a war against Iran (or a genocide in Gaza) without American military hardware, funding, and diplomatic support. Manufacturing consent for a regime change war, by Israel, in Iran, is in fact just manufacturing consent for a US war in Iran. American media outlets are not talking this way, or pushing these pro-war, anti-Iran propaganda arguments because it makes them feel good; they're framing any potential conflict with Iran as unambiguously justified, morally virtuous, and entirely the fault of Iranians for not overthrowing their government on our behalf by now. This, is what the manufacture of consent for war in America looks like in real time; not one big lie, but a thousand voices telling you over and over that every "reasonable" person agrees Iran had it coming.

Working Hard to Justify Israel’s Unprovoked Attack on Iran
Israel's special relationship with the US means it gets special coverage in the US corporate media, presenting its assault on Iran as fundamentally justified.FAIR
I don't want to let this story fall off the stack because I think it exposes the degree to which it is functionally impossible to separate Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, from the US regime's support for, and facilitation of that genocide. Indeed, although I use the term "Israel's genocide" for convenience, the reality is that given the crucial material, political, and legal support the US is offering for what remains an American client state committing crimes against humanity in full cooperation with US corporate interests (particularly weapons system manufacturers and surveillance technology companies) the genocide in Gaza is very much America's genocide.
Of course Very Serious People TM in the US media discourse disagree with that analysis, but at what point is it okay to stop taking those denials seriously? I contend that once Marco Rubio and Trump's State Department are issuing sanctions against United Nations Palestine expert Francesca Albanese, while expressly admitting its because her work exposing those responsible for the genocide in Gaza threatens US business interests, it's okay to give anyone denying America's responsibility for the greatest crime against humanity since the Second World War a wedgie and ignore their sophistry.
commondreams.org/news/rubio-sa…
In 'Lawless, Vile Act,' Trump Admin Sanctions UN Expert Critical of Israeli Genocide in Gaza
"In a post on the social media site X, Rubio said he is imposing sanctions on Albanese, the U.N. special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, "for her illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt International Criminal Court action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives."
"Albanese's campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated," Rubio added. "We will always stand by our partners in their right to self-defense. The United States will continue to take whatever actions we deem necessary to respond to lawfare and protect our sovereignty and that of our allies."
First of all, it should go without saying that the Trumpenreich's allegations against Francesca Albanese are unquestionably political, punitive, and false in nature. Albanese is one of the most respected legal scholars on the planet, and the foremost authority on Palestine and the living conditions of Palestinians under Israeli occupation, in the international community. The idea that a corrupt little McCarthyite pig like Marco Rubio has the credibility to stand in judgement over Albanese's excellent investigative work is funhouse mirror nazi farce shit all on its own.
Unfortunately this write up buries the lede here, but the background information you need to know is that Albanese recently released a report detailing the various (Pig Empire) corporate interests helping Israel to illegally annex the (Palestinian) West Bank in slow motion, which is why Rubio is more or less accusing her of economic terrorism. Speaking more broadly however, this is a blatant attempt by the US government to sideline one of the most dedicated and effective critics of the Israeli-American joint genocide in Gaza and the larger ethnic cleansing project being conducted against Palestinians in the region. Furthermore, while in the days since the sanctions were announced Albanese has indicated that she has no intentions of halting her work to expose these crimes against humanity, the truth is that this *is* going to make it harder for her to work with other scholars and investigators from Pig Empire aligned nations.
Finally, I'd like to take a moment to expand on a point made by Trita Parsi in this article:
"Trita Parsi, co-founder and executive director of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, noted that the Trump administration this week removed al-Qaeda-linked militants who toppled the regime of longtime Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from the U.S. list of foreign terrorist organizations, but is sanctioning a U.N. human rights official.
"Let that sink in," Parsi said."
While there is no denying that supporting the US-backed genocide in Gaza by any means necessary is a bipartisan position in the US ruling class establishment, I think it says a lot that in Gaza alone, Trump has essentially violated every foreign policy promise he was originally elected on back in 2016. He promised his supporters no more forever wars, yet here we are funding and perpetuating a nearly two year old militarized genocide in Gaza. He promised to root out the War on Terror era NatSec ghouls who worked with Al-Qaeda, and yet here his State Department is normalizing former Al-Qaeda brigades in Syria in the precise way he went after the Obama regime for. You can certainly point out that Trump's foreign policy is simply a continuation of longstanding US imperialism in the MENA, but you can't deny that HE said it wouldn't be.

In the time since I last posted in this thread, Downmarket Mussolini has:
- Bombed 3 nuclear facilities in Iran
- Openly mused about a regime change operation in Iran his DoD minions were actively denying was on the table
- congratulated himself for the complete destruction of an Iranian nuclear weapons program his own intelligence agencies and international monitors say did not exist
- apparently imposed a ceasefire Iran doesn't trust and Israel doesn't want
- promoted himself as a peacemaker, tried to name his own war, and congratulated Israel and Iran on a hard fight that he absolutely greenlit from the moment Israel first struck twelve days ago
Folks - that was 3 days; one of which I spent sick in bed. At the height of Trump's warmongering, I managed to publish a painstakingly researched essay about what I thought his attack meant, the manufacture of consent for a regime change war in Iran, and the long American forever war against that country that Trump is merely adopting, as all US presidents seemingly do. It was, in my opinion, some quality analysis; a day later Trump was effectively imposing a ceasefire and calling the entire shitshow a victory for humanity. To say I'm exhausted right now, would be an understatement.
I think readers know I'm not really fond of wild speculation about negotiations we don't have access to, or the mental state of powerful people making terrible decisions; I just consider it lazy analysis and I suspect its why liberal media antifascist (as much as that is possible) arguments don't land, because it's all about personalities and crystal ball reading. Unfortunately, I can't just leave this thread hanging and without access to a lot more information about the negotiations, speculation is all I'm left with. Given that I already wrote about Trump's bombing and the aftermath in US politics, this is my best guess on what happened after that:
At some point, probably Sunday night, Trump realized that his regime change ambitions in Iran were bust for the moment. I can't be sure what prodded the Swine Emperor to that realization, but I suspect it was some combination of political aides pointing out a lack of popular support for another MENA forever war, and the reality that he just dropped his best bomb short of a nuke and it didn't actually change anything - you can't topple a government by bombing alone. I cannot stress enough that after 10 years of watching this guy's open warmongering against Iran, I am absolutely certain Trump wants to depose the current Iranian government; I just think that Sunday or Monday is when he realized his ambitions exceeded his grasp, for now.
Terrified that he was about to get his own Iraq and realizing, far too late, that Netanyahu does not care what happens to the Swine Emperor as long as Israel gets what it wants, the Klepto Kaiser yanked Israel's leash and called off the dogs. Despite what the media has told you about this being an ideological conflict between two sides driven by hatred, the reality is that Iran had been signaling its willingness to negotiate throughout this entire conflict; their only stipulation was that Israel had to stop attacking them first, which is a very reasonable position imo.
Naturally of course, the Iranian government has no particular reason to trust Trump or Israel, after all, this whole war started while we were supposedly negotiating a new nuclear deal with them; but Trump had to know, and could confirm through other Gulf diplomats that they'd agree to a ceasefire because Iran had been trying to obtain that goal the entire time. Israel on the other hand, was clearly big fucking mad about the whole situation, maintaining something close to dead radio silence until the ceasefire had kicked in.
I should point out that folks are making a big deal about the exchange of fire between Iran and Israel that occurred after the ceasefire had officially been declared active by Trump, but I think most observers are reading the tea leaves incorrectly. Israel didn't want this war to end, and launched a massive attack during the grace period Trump gave for final military operations in what he's calling the "12 Day war." Iran on the other hand didn't want to be perceived as obeying Trump, who after all, just attacked them. So they launched their retaliatory strike like 10 minutes after the deadline, as a way of exerting sovereignty. Then Israel blew up a radar tower because Bibi is a "last word" kinda guy.
Clearly then, I think this is an imposed peace that is designed to return the diplomatic situation between the US, Iran, and Israel to where it was before Israel attacked in the first place. The ceasefire is real, but I do not think it is durable, and already hawks in both the US and Israel are pointing out that Trump's bombing run didn't "stop the Iranian nuclear threat."
So we're gonna put a pin in this conversation for now; but if I were a betting woman, I'd put my chips on us being back here again - and soon.
Yup, the US is deeply culpable in the actions that Israel is committing. They're the primary material backer of Israel's military and supply the overwhelming majority of jets, bombs, etc.
Quite simply it would have been impossible for Israel to raze Gaza without the ongoing backing of the US through two successive administrations.
Hidden in the wash of Trump's announced re-launch of his soft power global tariff regime, was a curious ultimatum issued by Trump to the Lula government in Brazil, threatening crippling 50% tariffs against the Latin American country (an official US Major Non-NATO Ally) unless Brazil's president overruled his own country's judiciary to meet Downmarket Mussolini's outrageous demands. While the mainstream media reporting on this has focused on the ideological aspect of Trump's bullying attempt, the reality is the nature of those demands speaks to 3 larger projects the regime is consistently conducting through its foreign policy: the creation of a fascist international of Trump-aligned politicians and governments abroad, the revival of US multi-administration efforts to control or remove the Brazilian Worker's Party from power, and strangling the emerging BRICS economic alliance or at least eliminating it as a viable alternative to US economic hegemony.
newrepublic.com/article/197865… (archive: archive.ph/QQnAd)
The Deeper Reason That Trump Is Raging Against Brazil Right Now
"Right now, that nation is Brazil. Trump on Wednesday posted a letter on Truth Social addressed to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, threatening to slap 50 percent tariffs the country starting August 1 unless it ends the “witch hunt” against former President Jair Bolsonaro and reverses a Supreme Court ruling that U.S. social media companies can be held financially liable if users’ posts violate the country’s speech laws."
I've mentioned that most US foreign policy reporting is terribly dishonest, and to a degree this piece isn't different. The author focuses on the anti-BRICS angle, and offers lip service to the "Bolsonaro is a fellow-traveler" angle, without expanding on what that means and why the Trump regime cares. Furthermore, a more honest article would have mentioned the infamous and utterly bogus "Car Wash" corruption scandal the US govt (across two admins) helped create in Brazil to fuel a judicial coup against the Worker's Party and the jailing of Lula himself on laughable "corruption" changes that have since been tossed in court. A soft coup that ultimately enabled pro-Trump fascist Jair Bolsonaro to take power in the first place. This ultimatum then can be seen in part as a continued attempt by the US state to control Brazilian politics and shift it in an ever rightward, pro-corporate colonialism direction, and in part as a way to make further Trump regime interventions to ensure the installation of fascist, pro-Trump political allies, possible - a maneuver which tracks closely with the regime's efforts to bolster other fascist parties in the so-called West: in countries like France, Germany, and throughout Latin America.
Still, there is merit to the Sinophobic new Cold War and economic angles discussed here, bolstered greatly by the fact that some members of Trump's political party are openly stating as much.
"Republican Senator Eric Schmitt told Politico that “BRICS is a problem and I’m glad that [Trump’s] addressing it squarely. This is an effort by other countries to undermine the United States of America and, quite frankly, our allies.” It’s an odd statement, given that a number of BRICS members are themselves U.S. allies, notably India and Saudi Arabia. But Schmitt went even further. In a direct echo of yesteryear’s cold warriors, he added, “Countries are going to need to start to choose: Are they going to align themselves with a malign communist regime that has concentration camps or the United States?”
That's not very ambiguous is it? Taken altogether, we again see anti-China neo-McCarthyism, economic intimidation, and Trump's personal grievances or ambitions blending into longstanding US foreign policy objectives to form a repugnant, destabilizing course of action. This is, to put it bluntly, fascist ideological extortion; and even the nazis can't be arsed to deny it.
"The answer is obvious to Steve Bannon, MAGA’s leading anti-globalist, who said Brazil can easily solve its problem: “If you drop the trial and drop the charges, the tariffs go away.” When asked how this policy approach—which treats tariffs like sanctions—differed from extortion, he remarked that “it’s MAGA, baby … It’s a brave new world.” Effectively, Trump and his minions are demanding that the judicial system of Latin America’s largest nation, the fourth-biggest democracy in the world, do his bidding or suffer the consequences—specifically, a potential economic calamity that would impoverish millions of Brazilians. Furthermore, in addressing his letter to Lula, Trump is implying that the chief executive must be the one to break Brazil’s institutional order, even though the letter’s main complaints pertained to decisions by the judiciary."
I don't want to sound like a doomspeaker, but a rational woman might look at all of this and say that Trump and the Pork Reich don't seem satisfied with a US dictatorship; these nazis are after the world.
The Deeper Reason That Trump Is Raging Against Brazil Right Now
It’s not just about defending his buddy Jair Bolsonaro or protecting social-media companies from Brazilian laws. It’s much bigger than that: Trump’s grievance is global. The New Republic
Six months into the second Trump presidency, it is increasingly clear that when the Swine Emperor leaves the country, he's going to say something that will fundamentally alter the Trump regime's position on foreign policy, or trade relations, in an unguarded moment. This means that as much as I wanted to ignore Downarket Mussolini's mutual public hand-job tour with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, I knew sooner or later Trump would say something nobody expected and it would be international news. Did I expect it to be good news? No, I did not.
I have a pleasant surprise for you however, because this time Trump said something that fundamentally undermines his government's position on Israel's ongoing blockade and engineered famine in Gaza, and has real potential to implode the regime's entire position on the US-backed, Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

Trump acknowledges ‘real starvation’ in Gaza and tells Israel to let in ‘every ounce of food’
"The US president told reporters that Israel bore “a lot of responsibility” for the crisis in a rebuke to Netanyahu, who had claimed earlier on Monday that there was “no starvation in Gaza”.
Asked whether he agreed with this assessment, Trump said: “I don’t know. Based on television, I would say not particularly, because those children look very hungry.”
He later added: “We can save a lot of people, I mean some of those kids. That’s real starvation; I see it and you can’t fake that. So we’re going to be even more involved.”
Asked what he would ask Netanyahu for next time they spoke, Trump said: “We’re giving money and we’re giving food, but we’re over here … I want him to make sure they get the food. I want to make sure they get the food, every ounce of food.”
What Trump just said here is mind-blowing because of the degree to which it runs completely opposite to how his State Department has explained the regime's support for, and complicity in, both Israel's famine-inducing blockade in Gaza, and the larger genocide we're helping them conduct. As the article notes, Trump's statements stand in direct opposition to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's declaration that "it was a “bold-faced lie” to say Israel was causing hunger in Gaza." Was Trump trying to pass the buck for an ongoing engineered famine his government has been gleefully supporting until too many pictures of starving babies found their way into the mainstream discourse? You bet he was. Is the Swine Emperor trying to squeeze his greasy carcass through the eye of a needle to oppose the famine we can all see Israel engineering, while continuing to support the IOF's ruthless military extermination campaign against Palestinians in Gaza? He most certainly was; but that doesn't mean that position is actually tenable for Trump or the other Pig Empire nations supporting Israeli's genocide.
Trump just admitted that there was a famine in Gaza, openly disagreed with Netanyahu and thereby conceded that Israel is causing starvation, and directly demanded Netanyahu let all the humanitarian aid through, which again, very clearly implies that the Israeli PM has the power to do so, and is responsible for the fact that the aid is not reaching starving kids Trump can see on TV. I'm pretty sure Marco Rubio had to be talked out of hanging himself in the executive bathroom at Foggy Bottom after hearing that. Once the President of the United States essentially admits that Israel is engineering a famine in Gaza, it's hard to argue that they're not conducting a genocide; the former, directly means the latter. And once you admit Israel is conducting a genocide, the argument that they're not mass slaughtering Palestinians because they're Palestinians, but rather "trying to eradicate Hamas" falls apart entirely. How the fuck does Rubio answer the question of why the US continues to arm and support the government of Israel, when the President himself just accused that same government of intentionally starving kids to death in Gaza while every camera in the western hemisphere was rolling?
This in turn is also likely to have a catastrophic effect on America's pro-genocide allies in Europe; who are already scrambling as public opinion turns overwhelmingly against the genocide, thereby implicated most of the EU's leaders in aiding and abetting these crimes against humanity. Starmer himself is said to have been pressing Trump on Gaza throughout the trip, as he faces a domestic crisis of his own making now that he's arresting 70 year old nans for "terrorism" to silence opposition to Israeli's genocide in Gaza.
There are clearly cracks forming in the wall of silence protecting Israel, and its Pig Empire patrons, as they conduct a genocide in Gaza. This isn't about blind hope; now is the time to keep applying pressure on team genocide until those cracks turn into fissures, and eventually the kind of chasms that will bring down the whole rotten project.
Trump acknowledges ‘real starvation’ in Gaza and tells Israel to let in ‘every ounce of food’
Starmer said to have pressed US president on humanitarian crisis during talks at Turnberry golf resort in ScotlandEleni Courea (The Guardian)
Quite frankly, I think anyone arguing that Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, isn't also America's ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, is probably being willfully obtuse at this point. There remains however a disconnect between the horrifying scenes of engineered starvation in Gaza, and American policy decisions that have directly contributed to that starvation, above and beyond American material aid for the IOF and "defensive" weapons systems like the Iron Dome. The fact is that not only are we funding Israel's "blockade" keeping food and vital medicines out of Gaza, but we've also helped engineer the food insecurity for Palestinians on the ground there, that is fueling Israel's successful attempts to engineer a famine.
I am speaking of course of the bipartisan US attacks on U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, or UNRWA. As you may recall, the vast majority of American politicians responded to what we now know are false, or at least wholly unproven accusations that UNRWA was somehow working with Hamas on October 7th or in the ensuing fall out, by voting to cut off all funding to UNRWA. Furthermore, then president Joe Biden actively encouraged the rest of the Pig Empire to do the same; despite the fact that everyone involved was universally warned by human rights and refugee aid organizations that UNRWA was literally the only organization in the world capable of preventing hunger and deprivation in Gaza. Or perhaps you don't remember, because it's very clear that a pro-genocide US corporate media has no interest in linking bipartisan attacks on UNWRA, to the engineered famine we're watching Israel enforce in Gaza right now.
Naturally of course, because the Trumpenreich exists to make everything terrible about America even worse, a GOP-dominated appropriations committee has recently decided that even as other Pig Empire nations have restored funding to UNWRA and the world is watching Israel's engineered famine starve literal children to death on livestream in Gaza, it would be a good idea to make funding cuts and bans on working with UNWRA permanent.
theintercept.com/2025/07/29/ga… (archived: archive.ph/ctBWL)
"The GOP-dominated House Appropriations Committee last week voted to bar financial support for the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East, long the main hub of aid distribution in Gaza.
If passed by Congress, the ban would reinforce a financial blockade on UNRWA that began last year as Israel subjected the agency to an intense pressure campaign.
The latest move, however, comes amid an increasingly dire situation, as U.N. experts decried a full-fledged famine, and other Western countries are holding emergency meetings to address the crisis."
Given that I think pretending a Palestinian refugee aid organization is a terrorist cell based on disproven accusations by Israel, and making a political point of denying funding to that organization in the middle of a purposely engineered famine kinda speak for themselves, I'll keep this brief. This shit is evil, the GOP is making the starvation worse, and no matter how much Trump cries about it on TV, that means that we're directly starving babies in Gaza, in addition to all the other ways we enable the genocide. This is America's famine, and the tracks to this point were laid down before Trump was even elected; even though he bears all responsibility for continuing and indeed expediting the genocide since then.
"Congress first banned funding for UNRWA in March 2024 as Israel pushed allegations that the agency’s employees were involved in the October 7, 2023, attacks. Democratic President Joe Biden had already paused funding for the agency.
The House and Senate are working to replace that appropriations package with a new one for the next financial year. On July 23, the House Appropriations Committee passed a bill focusing on funding for national security and State Department programs.
The $46 billion bill would slash funding for many foreign aid programs and ban funding for UNRWA, while handing Israel $3.3 billion to buy more American arms."
All of which brings us to the reality that the US corporate media has no interest in linking our attacks on UNWRA and its funding, with the famine advocates predicted would be inevitable when the entire government agreed to do so under the guise of "stopping Hamas."
"The link between the pressure campaign against UNRWA and the scenes playing out in Gaza now is clear, Asi said, even if Israeli and U.S. officials don’t want to admit it.
“Those lines have not really been connected, between defunding the largest humanitarian response agency in Gaza with obvious humanitarian disaster after. They were warned,” she said."
Folks, whether they want to report it on the 6 o'clock news or not, this is America's genocide; Israel is just the US client state conducting it.

As Gaza starves, Republicans take aim at UNRWA, a potential lifeline. Almost no one noticed.Matt Sledge (The Intercept)
Yesterday, I talked about how the Swine Emperor's shockingly frank statements about engineered famine in Gaza, had the potential to render the US State Department's pro-Israel, pro-starvation, and pro-genocide in Gaza positions, completely untenable going forward. I understand some of the cynicism from folks who have been watching a livestreamed baby holocaust conducted by the IOF in Gaza for closing on two years now, but I do genuinely think this sudden shift from Trump is a result of intense pressure on the Swine Emperor to distance himself from a genocide the US has supported at every step of the way, across multiple administrations. Furthermore, as I predicted, Trump's shifting position has immediately opened up numerous fissures on the otherwise pro-Israel, fascist American right.

‘The war needs to end’: is the US right turning on Israel?
"Yet the war’s duration and human cost, as well as recent Israeli strikes on Christian targets, have spurred modest signs of discontent on the US right. Some conservative commentators have walked back their support for Israel’s war; the US’s famously Zionist ambassador to Israel rebuked the actions of Jewish settlers in the West Bank; and an unresolved rift over foreign intervention continues to plague the Maga world.
To some extent this mirrors trends in US sentiment overall. A recent CNN poll found a steep decline in US support for Israel since the war started. That drop was most dramatic among respondents who identified as Democrats or independents, but the poll also found that since 2023 the percentage of surveyed Republicans who believe that Israel’s actions are justified fell from 68% to 52%.
It’s highly likely that depictions of starvation in the territory – where 147 people have reportedly starved to death, including 88 children, and nearly one in three people are going multiple days without eating, according to the United Nations – have played a role. On Monday, Donald Trump partly contradicted the claim of the Israeli leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, that there is no starvation in Gaza, telling reporters: “That’s real starvation … I see it, and you can’t fake that. So, we’re going to be even more involved.” Trump made the statement while visiting Britain, where the Daily Express, considered the country’s most rightwing mainstream tabloid, recently ran a headline decrying hunger in Gaza: “FOR PITY’S SAKE STOP THIS NOW.”
I understand that talk is cheap, the Trump regime is still trying to find a way to support bombing Palestinian kids to death while distancing itself from starving them to death, and it is very hard for someone who isn't a dogshit human being to tell the difference between those two acts. But when we're talking about the Trump administration, his fascist voters, and pro-genocide cracker imperialists across the Pig Empire, we're not dealing with morally consistent avatars of human decency here. Whatever they feel in their hearts, the images of starving children and near-famine conditions in Gaza, are making the pro-genocide position in the Pig Empire establishment, very awkward.
You don't have to take my word for, you can just ask some of Trump's closest and most influential allies in the MAGA movement:
JD Vance called the images from Gaza "heartbreaking" and insisted Israel has "gotta do more to let that aid in" (while also promoting further military operations in Gaza).
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, yes, that MTG, became the first GOP official to acknowledge what Israel is doing in Gaza is a "genocide."
Christian fascist propagandist Michael Knowles called on Israel to bring the entire "war" (the genocide) in Gaza to a close. Bari Weiss's pro-Israel propaganda rag recently published an article admitting that there is "a real hunger crisis" in Gaza. Joe Rogan won't let Netanyahu on his podcast, noted Catholic winger freak Ross Douthat is admitting Israel's assault on Gaza is "unjust."
Even Ambassador Mike Huckabee, an unhinged Christian Zionist fundamentalist, recently called Israeli settler attacks on Christians acts of "terror" and "an absolute travesty."
The real coup de grace however, came from world-famous fascist greaseball "intellectual," and longtime Trump ally Steven Bannon, who told Politico:
“It seems that for the under-30-year-old MAGA base, Israel has almost no support, and Netanyahu’s attempt to save himself politically by dragging America in deeper to another Middle East war has turned off a large swath of older MAGA diehards. Now President Trump’s public repudiation of one of the central tenets of Bibi’s Gaza strategy — ‘starving’ Palestinians — will only hasten a collapse of support.”
Please keep in mind that this is just America; the pro-genocide position isn't faring any better elsewhere in the Pig Empire either. Analysis isn't prophecy, but from out here, it's starting to look like the US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza, is running on borrowed time.

in reply to AI6YR Ben • • •I do not know where a Tesla dealership is, so this makes it easier to never give them money in the first place.
As I have said before, you can not pay me to take your tesla off of your hands.
No need to protest. Just do not give them money.
Other corps should pay attention to this legal concept.
