If the situation with Iran escalates to war, I wonder how many on Fedi will adopt a sudden anti-Iran mentality.
Partly because of US imperialism, Iran has close ties with Russia, China and North Korea.
I wonder if we will be seeing sudden frenzied criticism of Iran, like with Russia, that positions the US as the good guys, and seemingly shows disregard for the actual genocide being committed by the US and its client state Israel.
It feels to me like the strongest propaganda trick is the dehumanising 'mad man' campaign, that shows non-Western leaders as crazy and unpredictable. Part of the effectiveness of that is racism.
So while you criticise the West, these non-Western leaders must be feared more because it is they who will supposedly let things get out of hand, not the aggressors in the West.
It does seem to be a thing with how people think of non-Western countries - they have mad man in charge.
Meanwhile the US has Trump and Israel has Netanyahu, and somehow they don't count because we live in a democracy or something.
