1. Allow you to meet your nearby neighbors
2. Are less likely to become flashpoints
3. Are a really GREAT way to hearten other people, because if protests are going on in places other than the big city it means a LOT of people care
(In not-unrelated news, my friend’s elderly, formerly-Republican parents went to a protest in their extremely right-wing small town this week and were chuffed to find hundreds of people joining them!)

Eaton falls Trail and Sulphur Gates
This 6 mile out and back trail will take you past the Sulphur Gates into the , a cool looking geological feature shaped by water, to a waterfall that has carved the rock into an intriguing spiral pattern.

The way the small canyon warps up around the waterfall is hard to convey. Me for scale.
The Sulphur gates, formed as water cut through the ridgeline to merge the rivers below.
Kind of out of the way to get to, I mostly went here as I was stalling for time for snowmelt. The waterfall itself was very cool though.
May miss tomorrow, not sure if I’ll get back to service or not (Kootenai NP).

It’s Liars Weather this morning (foggy, damp and HOT), so cats only got a half hour of open door Squirrel TV. In consolation I am currently now the pitching machine for various mice, springs and fuzzy bails until first nap.
Meds were necessary after car ride yesterday so could not keep my eyes, but it looks like we did have quite a bit of rain in VA, and will probably get more today. I don’t think our soldiers will mind being wet considering how hot it will be. Also looking at fires out West, and watching the Gulf, just because it’s that time of year.
