Thousands at very noisy #NoKings protest in Bethesda, MD
With the NoKings organizers having chosen to avoid DC itself for fear of assault by Proud Boys and other MAGA goons (cops included), protesters diverted to actions just outside the city.
The Bethesda protest drew thousands, plus an incredible chorus of honking cars. No apparent sign of fascists after some very aggro talk by Proud Boys and similar.
At the same time, the crowd on the Mall for Trump's event celebrating the US Army's own birthday (prior to his parade) looked very sparse. It is possible the protest in Bethesda outdrew it at that time, but the Mall does have a way of soaking up crowds and hiding their true size.
I ran across somebody with a sign very far away from the San Francisco demonstration, and she had put seven lines of text on (a clipboard sized piece of cardboard for a general idea) each line had at least one fuck in it.

*Correction: The count now reported by the local Indivisible web site is 2600, not 4400. The larger number was being passed through the crowd and may have been an early estimate or garbled. Still, a good turnout.
