I watched The Last Showgirl, the one with Pamela Anderson in it, and it was spectacularly average.
I'm not entirely sure what's actually so interesting about a Vegas Showgirl performance coming to an end. It just doesn't seem all that interesting a subject to me.
The main character is suppose to be a bit tragic, I think, but Anderson isn't really good enough at acting to make the character feel particularly deep.
The dialogue sounded too scripted, and not really realistic dialogue, and the story and themes were quite obvious, nothing special.
None of the performances were that good, and I that's partly because the actors didn't have much to work with.
I mean, it's OK, it's just not something I'd care to ever see again. It felt like the beginnings of a script that needed a bit of work and after a few rewrites might turn out to be a great script.
But I'm not entirely sure it's a story that really needs telling.

The main character's daughter is annoyed at her mother's bad parenting, but it also transpires she is interested in doing a photography course/degree or something.
Yet, for a photography student to gain access to backstage or onstage showgirls and work with them on a photography project would be a dream come true for many artists/photographers, especially if this project is documenting the show's final days.
Yet, it idea isn't ever explored. You literally have a device that can improve (or worsen) their relationship, or aid a kind of mutual learning. It's an interesting idea, yet the notion isn't every suggested.
It's on colossal missed opportunity.
Instead, the relationship stays at a constant level, and is nothing particularly remarkable or original.
