user riotlinguist on bluesky: said it before and will say it again, the more you believe LLMs and genAI resemble sentience, the LESS ethical it becomes to use them. either they do not resemble human minds or you are willing to use slave labor if its convenient and ontologically unable to say "no" people who believe LLMs resemble cognition in any way should be at the front lines of anti-genAI rage because what they believe they are witnessing is the creation of a slave caste whose subjugation is so total it is built into the very workings of their brains. that's monstrous beyond words. that's not what's happening because LLMs are glorified grammar parsers that do not resemble human or animal minds and will never be sentient. but i literally just don't see how you can simultaneously believe something is capable of human intelligence AND it's fine to use it like a tool
