This 1985 Merkur XR4Ti remained with a single owner in Kentucky from new until July 2022, and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025. Finished in Regency Red Metallic with gray lower cladding, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter SOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. It is also equipped with a sunroof, a biplane hatch spoiler, a rear window wiper, pop-out rear vent windows, a fully independent suspension, front disc brakes, 14″ eight-hole alloy wheels, gray leather upholstery, air conditioning, a digital clock, and a Ford-branded cassette stereo along with power windows and side mirrors.

Merkur was Ford's short-lived 1980s attempt to bring cars developed by Ford of Europe to the U.S. market. The "Merkur XR4Ti" was a Ford Sierra, modified to comply with U.S. regulations.

When they were new, my dad wanted one of these cars SO BADLY.
