Calling someone out for fascist ideology is seen as "harassment" by the Framework team. Enjoy the Nazi bar, Nirav.

I'm gonna be working to replace my framework machine with a new desktop in the coming weeks. Using hardware produced by people who are gonna defend fascists like this makes my stomach churn.

I see they have now decided to take a shotgun to the foot instead of just a handgun

I had a feeling when they were championing AI desktops they were gonna do this. *sigh* honestly glad I never gave them money. @usernameswift @julia

As I interpret this they specifically say "calling other users".

I'm pretty sure they mean you're not allowed to call other forum users in the thread fascists.

They also specifically state that critique of public figures or organizations is allowed.

So I don't see problem with this? The rules are just meant to keep the discussion on topic.

With all respect, but I think these new guidelines are very reasonable. They do write that anti-trans comments aren't welcome and it is also not very productive to call others Nazis when the reality is most of the time much more nuanced. Having said that, I wish they would write a company statement that explicitly says that they will not endorse any project or product that supports racism, homophobia or transphobia, etc.

This paragraph, later, seems important. In the list of explicitly _allowed_:

"Critiques of public figures or organizations (i.e. those meeting Wikipedia’s standards for notability): including strong or negative opinions about political positions, policies, or business practices."

(As well as the rest of the list of such things.)

Considering that it doesn't make sense for someone to be a Nazi and not racist, sexist, *phobic, etc. These guidelines just mean that you have to actually say what bad thing someone did, all of which remaims non-tolerated. In my understanding this effectivly just bans calling someone a Nazi in the colloquial sense (as in "Grammar Nazi" or a Mod who enforces strict guidelines) or as a generic insult without concrete substance?

For a public forum, it's not particularly useful to call other users Nazis even if they actually explicitly are. No nuance required. They're _looking_ to make a scene and disrupt. Flag their posts and problematic behaviour for the mods and deny them the pleasure. They'll get bored and target somewhere else.
