This Sunday is occupied by my viewing of the 2 hour #GrammyCelebrationOfLatinMusic and now I have a beef with it even though the second hour is still young. There was a token nod to Brazil in the form of "The Girl From Ipanema" , completely ignoring the major tour de force that was Sergio Mendes even though one of his pieces was in a fairly recent movie (Rio). And despite having one American hit, the actually Spanish group Mocedades was completely ignored...and then there was that incomplete tribute to La Bamba.

Y'all are supposed to think that the Beatles' "Twist and Shout" was the only tune that took off from La Bamba, but there was also Jay and The Americans' "Come A Little Bit Closer". I just heard Mike Buble pay tribute to what Rosie Clooney sang but so far ZERO MENTION of the legendary Xavier Cougat, of that era. Do better, #Grammys
