Just a note for the next time anyone schedules a conference in Texas:
It is now literally illegal for trans people to use the bathroom there.
Your trans friends and colleagues are going to be silently judging you for hosting events in a place it's illegal for them to exist when there's lots of other states to pick from.

If you have to fly into an airport. Or go to the University of Texas. Or need to visit any state office. I'm not certain, but many conference centers and stadiums received public funding, so they might try and apply it there too. Who the fuck knows.
I have a LOT of personal ties to Texas. I reluctantly went to Austin for work travel earlier this year and spent the whole time on a "bathroom leash". Only going places where I knew I could get back to my hotel room or to a single person restroom.
I still have a dozen or so great friends there. I ain't setting foot in that state now. Not even for a connecting flight. I'd rather stay home than make a connection in Texas. Maybe for the rest of my life.
