As nearly as I can tell, the Christian Left doesn't exist. I never hear a peep out of them. I know individual Christians who have their hearts in the right place (on the left), but I've not heard a Christian Left speaker ever.

Oh, I sure have! Most of them are Catholics, many are priests or ex-priests like the Berrigan brothers. Father Michael Pfleger in Chicago is well-known for radical action, leading marches and deonstrations. The Nuns on the Bus (NETWORK) are very active. Also, meet the legendary Sojourners Magazine
in reply to Joyce Donahue

They never make the news. I'm sure that's part of the problem.
in reply to Joyce Donahue

They certainly used to. The Catonsville Nine

And lest you think that it's only clergy and religious, they have had a lot of lay companions and followers. The Nuns on the Bus has made a national bus tours since 2012, advocating for social justice and teaching about it.

I think with what's going on, we will see more in the news. That bishop and priests in San Diego last week that stood up to ICE are an example.

And here I thought the name 'the christian left' was a bit of sarcasm and an oxymoronic statement...(personal warning...there are those who are Religious Extremist Christians for whom Catholics are considered to be another form of Pagans, the whole 'they worship graven images!' and some on the other side who don't consider Protestants as actual Christians either....it's the root of why there have been some continued BS between catholics and protestants...)
in reply to Joyce Donahue

Odd that we hear from this source before we hear from the leading Democrats. Weren't they prepared for this?
in reply to Joyce Donahue

The Christian Left is a Facebook group... they label all their memes.

Catholics believe Protestants are our brothers and sisters - one Lord, one faith, one baptism and all that - and there are many agreements and dialogs among them with Catholics. The real issue is that some Protestants will never engage in dialog with Catholics (like Evangelicals and Southern Baptists). All Evangelicals aren't bad Christians - just the ones who have been seduced by the "Christian Nationalist" fallacy. Yes, we have a bone to pick with them.

@Tom Grzybow AOC has proposed impeaching Trump over the Iran bombing... but other than complaints that they weren't informed, while GOP leaders were, most Dems are pretty quiet.
in reply to Joyce Donahue

most Dems are pretty quiet.

This is very wrong, and also bad politics.

in reply to Joyce Donahue

They are giving all of the screen time and speeches to Trumo.
