Claude AI has been absolutely fucking indispensable for understanding Japanese insurance system. Like not even close. It took all the Japanese documentation and summarized everything.
in reply to Blurry Moon

umm it's not intelligent though and it's just a parrot
in reply to lain

with respects to japanese specifically, one glaring omission that the major AI vendors have in their frontends is a lack of ruby text/furigana smh
in reply to cell classic

I just tell it to repeat it to me in kana but yeah that would be nice if it were integrated and smart
in reply to Blurry Moon

the biggest issue I have had with the international stuff is, it can only search in your native language apparently. so while it may scrape japanese sites and consume that information and regurgitate it in english, when it has to web query live, it only does english searches. why does this limitation exist???
in reply to Blurry Moon

Because the average proprietary software developer is too closed minded to realize that multilingual people exist or that information in another language can actually provide more valuable insights.
in reply to CapitalB

These low wage country army of developers don't make any design or architecture decisions in the proprietary software world.

They just do whatever the Jira ticket, written by their white boomer manager, says they should do.

in reply to SuperDicq

@SuperDicq @lain @CapitalB @cell you're overlooking that the product does actually work pretty well, it just doesn't make it as absolutely nice as possible
in reply to Blurry Moon

It's a chatbot that is very often wrong and simply just makes stuff up half the time.

That does not fit my definition of "a product that does actually work pretty well".

Especially when I can also just download a model and run an equivalently retarded chatbot locally without all the spyware if I wanted to.

@SuperDicq @cell classic @Blurry Moon @lain @CapitalB spyware on local network?

in edit: (had a call): How do you use your LLM? there is no telemetry nor API nor network reach if done right on localhost simply. And it is therefor not less.

in reply to plan-A

Because your question makes no sense if you actually read what I wrote.
in reply to lain

I'm generalizing obviously but I think it is true, because a lot of software doesn't keep multilingual users in mind.

@Blurry Moon @cell classic @lain set pc on English zone. Or proxy only those as USA, Canada Murrica to be short or others depending your proxy ip.

Claude Sonnet etc depend on how you use it, simply.
But no one needs an AI that just say what they know already.
