Captured with a 45mm shifting and tilt/swing lens and a DSLR camera. A bit of swing kept the side of the trestle in sharp focus, and a bit of shift enabled the framing.
This long, tall trestle on the BNSF railroad is also known as the "John Muir Trestle". People far bolder than I had tagged it with graffiti.
This is mostly a study in lines and convergence.

🤔 I see y'all sharing a meme of Nikola Tesla saying "Get my name off your cars, you nazis!" or something like that?
See, this is why knowing history is important.
Nikola Tesla was an anti-Black eugenecist. And it's a good thing for the world that he died broke, because rich eugenecists are worse.
hachyderm.io/@mekkaokereke/109…
Tesla was a fan of the forced sterilization happening in the USA, and believed that by 2100 mass eugenics would have "purified" the human race of all undesirables.
That's who you're capping for.
Shout out to everyone that's been a Nikola Tesla fan their entire lives, but is just learning this now.
And for those people that want to pretend that this was a long time ago...
Tesla died in 1943.
Joe Biden and Robert DeNiro were already born.

this so much. it's easy to make an assumption that someone would do such a vile thing only because there's something fundamentally "wrong" with their brains or something, but it's dangerous because from it inevitably follows that people with mental disabilities or low intelligence are more evil or bigoted (which they are not), and that smart or educated people are incapable of also doing or willingly choosing evil. (which they absolutely are)
Hannah Arendt knew what she was talking about with "The Banality of Evil".

@ljwrites To be honest, they get a bit repetitive after a while.
I'll just make them into a chapter in a book on mountain legends.
A good question. A "true answer" would have to be given by the Sorbians themselves, though I am not going to claim that the Sorbians living in Germany in the modern day aren't also Germans. And during the time these tales were written down, they were certainly within the territory of German states. Thus, I tend to err on the side of inclusion.
I know of a few German-language works covering their folklore, but not in English (apart from the few tales I have translated myself).
So he may not have enough money to threaten Republican senators with a primary to ensure they stay in line with Trump ?

Oh dear, how sad, never mind
France has had the TGV since 1981. It does 320kph (200 mph) in standard service.
It makes me sad that 44 years later, the best we've got here in the Acela on the NE corridor, that is *technically* rated for 150 mph, but due to track conditions averages 66 mph btwn BOS and NYC and 82 mph btwn NYC and DC.
Americans - free to buy a Ford in any color, as long as it's black.
Americans - free to buy any EV, as long as it's a fire-prone Tesla
@Npars01
Another bad headline, from a source in NYC of all places. You'd think it would know better by now.
Donald Trump said he would buy a Tesla. It's not the same thing as actually buying one. Not by a country mile. I'll believe it when I see the receipts. If anybody buys one, it won't be DJT himself, and not for full retail.

These flight paths (in DC) aren't like roads in the sense that you can just fly on them when you think it's safe. Every movement has to be authorized by ATC.
