Question for the beekeepers out there. I'm starting a hive at the end of March and one in early April. There isn't a heavy pollen or nectar flow in my area yet. We are planning supplemental feeding starting out but I'm also thinking of adding a pollen substitute to encourage brood rearing. The supplements/feeding will stop once things are in bloom here. Often they have become so bogged down in their pseudo theories that it is almost impossible to have a meaningful discussion with them.
Sometimes you can try and present a well-reasoned objection. Whether the other side will get it, is a different question.
Recently, I had the case that the person had βdiscussedβ their theory with an AI / LLM beforehand and, due to βpraiseβ from the language model, was convinced that they *could not be wrong*.
My objection that the central definition underlyinig the βtheoryβ is not physical and ambiguous was completely ignored.
Worse still: because I was perceived to be to βstupidβ has led the person to conclude that they will only discuss this with AIs in the future because βit obviously doesn't make sense (anymore) to discuss it with physicists.β
After all, what could possibly go wrong when non-physicists pour their βphysics buzzword bingoβ with questions that sound like physics (but are not) into an LLM that ultimately doesn't understand physics either?
If the LLM then says, among other things, βit does seem almost too logical and elegant to be completely wrongβ, this is of course problematic. Especially if the person at that point decides not to listen to any experts at allβ¦

Yep. All the time. "No immediate use for this, out it goes" was the philosophy. I'd take it out, put it back where it belonged, and sometimes this process would repeat a few times, until they figured it out. I would have protested more loudly, but the lack overall of clutter actually made for a better space to live in, so it was a relatively small price to pay.
