This Week in Plasma brings launch menu customizations, better screen recordings, and improvements to Plasma's calculator.

We have simplified KMenuEdit allowing you to customize your launch menu with ease, improved the quality of full-screen recordings with Spectacle, set the "Dim Screen for Administrator Mode" to be switched on by default, and enhanced the accessibility and keyboard navigation of Plasma's Calculator.

So my spare laptop was getting a bit old 8+ years, but I got a Lenovo think pad to 'dispose of', at 12 + years old, but much less used.

Changed hd, added 4G of memory and swapped the rtc battery.

Added Debian.

Nice little laptop now, apart from the dead battery. I'll run it on mains power for a bit and see if it's worthwhile getting a replacement.

At least it isn't in a skip.

The first taste of spring. Sorrel, ground elder, dandelion, and chives made it into today's breakfast sandwich. 🥪

Keeping our property rather wild and unruly has many benefits for the overall balance and biodiversity. And an additional perk is the forage growing all over the place. 🌿 The first leaves are now peaking up through the dead grass left behind from last autumn.

Tip: Consider not cleaning up the garden in autumn. Leaving dead plants to break down over winter is less work and acts as a thick mulch. This mulch provides nutrients to the soil, makes it harder for new weeds to establish themselves, and protects everything hiding underneath from frost. It also allows insects and animals to forage for leftovers.

If the remaining material gets in the way in spring, it can always be cleaned up at that point, when most of its winter benefits have already been enjoyed by plants and animals alike.

Here's the difference between dogs and cats.

You feed a dog, and it goes "You feed me! You must be God!"

You feed a cat, and it goes "You feed me! I must be God!"

Your cats aren't favoring the new feeder as a God. They are favoriting it as their most dedicated worshipper.

Regardless, check your shoes before you stick your feet in them, because you've been relegated to the lowest class.

Cats scare me a little. I like them but every time I'm around them and take of my boots moments later a cat tries to get into one of them. Damn, they smell like garbage and if you climb into them with your head, neck and if possible your shoulders you get this stinking moisture all over you. But I guess it's great fun to feed cats they purr and show you how much they appreciate the food.

Just finished rewatching Series 1 of Blake's Seven 💫, and Orac appears in the final episode ... though I'm sure his voice changed later on. Also he appears to have 4 USB slots (?) which was good in 1978.

If you can overlook cheap sets and props and that it's a bit "Shakespeare in Space", there's a lot of good things. Paul Darrow (Avon) and Jackie Pearce (Servelan) both magnificent. Stephen Greif (Travis, in S1) too.

There it is! Finally, a real solution for how to style all of the HTML form controls using your own custom CSS to change anything — building on an interoperable UA set of defaults. It only took 30 years!

First will be the chance to style the “in-page” controls (the part embedded in the webpage), plus the popover for <select> (the part that appears “over top of” the page). Later we’ll do popovers for more things — like the date picker, etc.
