The image depicts a stylized female character with long, flowing blue hair. She is standing on a patch of grass, wearing a blue and cream-colored outfit with gold accents. The character is holding a large spear with a blue crystal tip, which she carries over her shoulder. Her attire includes a blue top with short sleeves, a cream-colored skirt-like garment, and blue leggings with gold trim. She wears white gloves and brown boots with gold detailing. The character's pose is confident, with one hand on her hip and the other gripping the spear. The background is plain white, emphasizing the character. The artist's signature, "jupiem," is visible in the bottom right corner.

Finished! Looks great. But I think the aperture is too small. Which is odd because I measured the blummin thing. #3dprinting

@Ryanteck PLA really shouldn’t shrink on cooling. This is why it is so easy to print with. Are the outer dimensions also smaller than designed? That will tell you if your printer is not well calibrated.

il m’arrive parfois de me consoler en me disant qu’un emmerdeur finira par se mordre la queue tout seul. Quand j’ai vraiment besoin de me consoler, alors je me dis: "cet emmerdeur doit déjà payer à chaque instant de sa vie sa manière d’être et de faire".

Mais avec Trump, ça ne marche pas.

Canadians booking trips to the U.S. has dropped by over 70% according to OAG. This is a COVID-level drop in travel which will have downstream economic impact on hotels, restaurants and more in the coming months.

I still think the market hasn’t priced in how disastrous the current government will be for American businesses.

In case this is useful to somebody:

Because of corporate collusion with law enforcement dating back to the 80s, all colour printers put tracking information on their printouts, whether you're printing a colour document or not, encoding information that ties printouts back to the specific printer used.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer_…

In 2018, scholars at TU Dresden created a tool to re-anonymize color-printed documents by obscuring that data:

@mike805 I don’t understand your argument, then. Helping well-intentioned people with imperfect technical knowledge understand and manage risks better seems like a good thing. If your position is that well funded criminals have options that civilians don’t, I concede the point.

Yeah it's good to be aware of that. I had heard of it before but thanks for posting. I was criticizing the policy of pushing hardware makers to do this sort of thing. Especially when we now seem to have a wave of political repression going on. If I was a pro-Palestine immigrant that had printed up some flyers on my inkjet, this post would have scared the hell out of me.

The image depicts a fantasy character in a serene forest setting. The character is kneeling on a rock, dressed in silver armor with a red cape. They hold a red, glowing trident-like staff aloft. The armor is detailed, with a chest plate, shoulder guards, and gauntlets, all reflecting a metallic sheen. The character's long blonde hair cascades down their back, and they wear a red cloak draped over their shoulders. The background features a tree adorned with purple roses, and the ground is scattered with rose petals, enhancing the mystical atmosphere. The overall color palette includes deep greens, purples, and reds, contributing to the enchanting scene.

Fixing a table that fell apart as I was moving it around 🙀

Real wood, nice turned legs but the worst joinery, not improved by dodgy attempts at patching it by a previous owner.

For some reason it wasn't glued, just pinned and I had to dig the pins out, doing further damage. What a waste.

Perhaps the factory was out of glue that day. Reminds me of an old DDR joke.

in reply to Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar

Now the other side. Dry join, you can see where I dug the pins out that obviously couldn't hold a table leg, see elongated holes.

The other two holes below the mortise are from where someone tried to patch it with an angle bracket and screws. That didn't work either.

Ah well, clamped back together with some PU glue.

in reply to Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar

The long sides are held by bolts in a typical flat pack furniture joint. This is normally fine and strong enough, although ideally there should be a half moon washer/nut instead of just a regular hex nut.

However, the bolts are too long, bottoming out in the hole and forcing the side and leg apart instead of clamping them together.

Fixed with a long drill bit, making room for the tip of the bolt.

Must've come from the CBA furniture factory! 😀
