I've spent about 2 hours so far going through the Substacks I have subscribed to for years, mostly free but about 7 paid. After the latest "mistake" AGAIN, I cannot justify going into the Substack site or app to read or interact. I've spent a while now getting the list of all who have a Substack so I can let them know why I am leaving now. I also let them know that I will follow if they have their own website outside of Substack and of course, if they are in Mastodon. Funny that after the 15th direct message I've sent the authors, I got a red text dialog from Substack "Too many direct messages at this time. Try again later". Yes, yes, I will do that.

@cjonthehudson I have sent a message to each of 12 of those I follow there, so far. It’s only been 3 hours and I have had 7 of them write back! Several had not heard what happened yesterday with the latest “mistake”. They were all concerned and several offered alternative ways to connect.
Here is a generic message I used and you can modify. It may be a way for her to catch on. There are likely going to be more public stories about this latest fiasco. She will find out and decide her best response.
“After the latest “mistake” in this site promoting Nazi publications here, I am only going to follow you on your own website or follow you on Mastodon, and have followed you many years. I believe I followed you from Twitter and then to Substack. I hope others will continue to connect with you, as I will, outside Substack.”
