Just finished @pluralistic's "Picks & Shovels." It is the fourth Marty Hench book, but it is also the first Marty Hench book, where we learn his origin story.

Every time I've finished one of the other books in the series, I've thought it was the best one. This one continues the run -- once again, the best Marty Hench book I've read.

I love this series. Highly recommended.

one thing that Trudeau gets no credit for but that he should is that I think the Canadian Senate works much better than it used to.

Trump's critics have compared him to King George III, but is it accurate? A scholar of early America says the 18th-century British monarchy’s power was far more limited than many realize: theconversation.com/tyrannical…

Lui, on l'a adopté déjà bien vieux. Il était pas très jouet non plus.
Mais il aimait jouer à chat avec son pote Yokai de temps en temps.
Griffoirs surtout à l'horizontale aussi.
(Lui aussi il me manque mon papychat)

what brand of earbuds did you get? I need some noise cancelling ones to block out noise when trying to sleep in the daytime.

in reply to 💙🩷💜Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ🐡🍉🐧

@Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ

Noise Canceling is a mic feature that keeps background noise from being picked up and transmitted with your call. It does not apply to the speaker part of the earbuds.

in reply to Unus Nemo

Some buds do have noise camceling for the outside world. My soundcore ear buds make the beep of thectrain doors almost inaudible, but only when I switch on the noise cancelling.
in reply to 💙🩷💜Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ🐡🍉🐧

@Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ

Never heard of it but I'll look for it. I have only ever seen them advertise noise canceling in regards to mic. Then again I do not buy extremely expensive ear buds either. I break or lose them to fast 😀

in reply to 💙🩷💜Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ🐡🍉🐧

@Ⓑⓡⓔⓣⓣ

Yes, I have Bose speakers in my car and love them. Though I would never get a pair of their earbuds. Way past what I will spend on them considering I would probably have them for a month at best.

So I've been getting at least 2-4 of these emails _every day_ for a couple weeks now... they are from YouTube, and they always come from a channel named "YouTube Creators".

Except the channel name is actually not that, it just looks like that: tinyurl.com/2cs63xk4

@callme_jc Cancelling Blue, not leaving Twitter—see x.com/geerlingguy/status/16140…

Note, however, I did cancel Blue. Then it re-enabled itself lol.

But now it's required to get a measly slice of the Elon X monetization pie. Which is next to nothing, even if you have millions of 'impressions' per month.

#Intelligence Assessment Said to Contradict #Trump on #Venezuelan Gang

#Trump’s assertion that a gang is committing crimes in the #US at the direction of #Venezuela’s govt was critical to his invocation of a wartime #law last wk to summarily [w/o #DueProcess] deport people whom ofcls suspected of belonging to that group.

But US #intelligence agencies circulated findings last month that stand starkly at odds w/Trump’s claims…. The doc, dated Feb 26, summarized the shared judgment of the nation’s spy agencies that the gang was not controlled by the Venezuelan govt.

So there's also spam on Mastodon? Does it mean it's becoming a serious concurrent to social networks we avoid?

I guess there's no way to avoid this? @FediTips

in reply to Stéphanie Vilayphiou

There has always been spam on all social networks, but because the Fediverse has a LOT more human moderators than commercial networks it tends to get dealt with pretty quickly here.

For example the spam account you just posted about has already been suspended. If you go to its profile page on its home server access is denied, which means a moderator has already closed the account:

mastodon.social/@Sadie_Nol

If the spam is still visible on your server, report it to your server admin.

I've been thinking about trying to design a class D replacement for the LM379S, as used in the Vectrex, and in some coin-op video games. It should be almost trivial with modern class D amplifier chips, but my analog design skills are weak. I've spent most of my life doing only digital design.

HAHA. Tesler is on a roll!

"U.S. safety regulators on Thursday recalled virtually all Cybertrucks on the road, the eighth recall of the Tesla-made vehicles since deliveries to customers began just over a year ago.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall, which covers more than 46,000 Cybertrucks, warned that an exterior panel that runs along the left and right side of the windshield can detach while driving, creating a dangerous road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The stainless steel strip, called a cant rail assembly, between the windshield and the roof on both sides, is bound to the truck’s assembly with a structural adhesive, the NHTSA report said. The remedy uses an adhesive that’s not been found to be vulnerable to “environmental embrittlement,” the NHTSA said, and includes additional reinforcements."
