Makes no difference to how it looks, but I upgraded the microSD that the PiDP8/i runs on from 32GB to 256GB, which gives it some decent storage capacity in its main role as the evening stereo system.

FTPing music from my main desk PC seems to work pretty well. It's almost like a feasible solution.

What stage of capitalism is it when companies report record profits, wealth inequity grows, and taxes are cut on corporations and the wealthy while the WSJ suggests you could save money by starving yourself and your family?

mhoye reshared this.

Isn't the linked devices vulnerability old news or rather a common point of human failure that's been targeted by state-sponsered groups for a while now?

(Don't just scan any old QR code, folks! That really goes for everything, not just messenger access.)

Organizers Log:

An update about the Fediverse Conference in Canada (FediCon) that I have been working on organizing.

As I mentioned before, we have a room chosen, and asked to use it on Friday August 1st & Saturday August 2nd.

I am waiting for them to send me the contract.

After I receive the contract, I will pay them a deposit to reserve the room.

@blaine @darius

I don't know if you have been following my posts for FediCon, but —

Like I mentioned before — it happening on August 1st & 2nd in Vancouver.

In particular:

UBC Robson Square

800 Robson Street,
Vancouver, BC, Canada

The web-site is here:

fedicon.ca

The room has finite space (about 200 people), so I put a form on the web-site to get a list of people who will come.

I hope both of you are still attending 🙂, so —

Please fill out the form if you are attending.

This is great, except this startup clearly did not think about the trademark implications behind their company naming, LOL. Also Internet searchability.

Hmm, don't go sideways on a slope with those tyres though. Otherwise probably great traction, but there seems to be nothing preventing sideways slippage. Like excavator tracks 😀

It’s too bad Bacon’s words don’t mean shit. He’ll say the things we want to hear, but his actions will still always fall in line with the party. Every time.

Yesterday, hundreds of Palestinians were demonstrating against Hamas in northern Gaza, risking their lives to protest.

It must be a mind-boggling sight for the many Israeli and US politicians who have equated the bombing of Gaza civilians with fighting Hamas.

Source (in Danish): dr.dk/nyheder/udland/hundredev…

in reply to Randahl Fink

sadly, the IDF has taken great delight in killing civilians, even when there was no possible military justification for going so.
(So pretty much every civilian death in Gaza).
Hamas is just an excuse to kill indiscriminately.

The tablets can identify the locations, status and assignment of resources. The improved systems also would allow sharing of maps, building floor plans and images."
