Wednesday morning whimsy from street artist David Zinn.

It feels like spring is here this week? Well, here at least

Got my hair cropped into a pixie cut again yesterday. I'd tried to grow it out a bit to be long enough for a bob, but it's not having it. It just seems to grow outwards and won't lie down. I think the texture is different than before it went fully grey. So best not to fight it and go with what works, a nicely textured short cut. At least it's still showing no signs of post-menopause thinning.
in reply to BeeCycling

I used to have a pixie cut, but I grew it out as I never seemed to be able to keep on top of it when I started my current job. I'll probably go back to it at some point because I hate my hair in my face. 🤣
in reply to Good Cheer Pixie

@GoodCheerPixie It's definitely way more practical! Especially when at least three times a week I've got to dry and style it at the pool, rather than at home. When it's short like now I barely even need a brush or comb!

🛳️🛢️ Russia’s oil exports edged higher for a second week, with almost half of the tankers sanctioned in previous years now back hauling Russian barrels, - Bloomberg

Crude flows from all Russian ports in the four weeks to April 27 rose to 3.26 million barrels a day, up by 1% from the previous week.

At least 18 of the 39 ships blacklisted by the US in 2023 and 2024 are now regularly hauling barrels from Russia’s ports, having previously been idle since they were sanctioned.

Special relationship? I don’t think so taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/0… For all the crap Starmer talks about 'special relationships' when it comes to the USA, we're at the back of the queue for a trade deal. It really is time the UK stopped deluding itself and developed an objective foreign policy based on our toxic relationship with Trump.

There's one thing I quite like about BSky and that's how they enable use of domains as part of the username without actually having a "server" behind the domain.

Is there some clever way to achieve the same thing on Mastodon? Like I have a few domains I wouldn't mind having activiated here on the Fediverse using AP.

Or is it one domain per username, and that's that?

#Mastodon #Federation #DNS

in reply to Christoffer S.

Not quite the same thing but you can use custom domain with a webfinger redirect

hamatti.org/posts/mastodon-red…

For example, I'm on mastodon.world instance but I can be found and referenced to with my domain name ([at]hamatti[at]hamatti.org).

in reply to Juhis

@hamatti Ahh yes, that's what I had in mind, thank you for remembering the details better than I did. 🙂

I'm ok

But I just tripped over my own feet

You know, if I had a wider gait this wouldn't happen

The sperm donor used to yell at me for walking like a girl

Even mum used to encourage me to walk "like a man", just So i wouldn't get yelled at

My GP suggested I walk with a wide gait

I can't help it ... Leave me alone

It's hard enough walking

⚡️ Europe struggles to even commit 25,000 troops for a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. With armies undermanned and underfunded, a 64,000-strong force remains unrealistic. Focus now shifts to training, air/sea support, and rearming Ukraine.

also, we’d be happy to station 50000 troops on crimea so the Russian troops can safely go home

It’s amazing to me that after 3 YEARS and million+ casualties, Europeans west of Poland do NOTHING.

What’s wrong with them?

I just don’t understand (says the man with an idiot president elected by racist, mysoginistic white Christians).

🇪🇺🇬🇧🇺🇦 Europe is finding it very difficult to raise 25,000 troops to participate in the deterrent force in Ukraine, because its armies are still understaffed, — The Times.

The UK has offered to provide up to 10,000 troops and asked partners to create a 64,000-strong contingent, in response, most states have recognized this as unrealistic — even 25,000 soldiers are considered a difficult achievable figure.

Russia's seaborne oil exports rise for the 2nd week, hitting 3.26M bpd (+1%). Key factor: 18 previously sanctioned tankers return. Weekly exports now at 23.72M barrels, with $1.33B in revenue. Asia dominates demand, while unclear destinations suggest possible rerouting.

Oh, it would probably be easy enough to reduce CO2 emissions. The problem would be the knock-on effects from the means of doing so. 🙂
