PSA: Fake verification replies are starting again. Don't fall for them. Best thing you can do is report them as SPAM to your instance and forward to any optional instances with "Fake Mastodon Verification Scam" written in the notes/comments section for the report. Make sure everyone you interact with knows this is going on. Permanent solutions to combat this scam are being implemented to tackle it by the software developers.

In the past few hours, dozens of new accounts were created to do the scam. First image an hour ago. Second image, shows the latest two accounts with the one that hit you circled in red. It's whack a mole right now for admins and being done on servers with open signups.
I'm also fighting/frustrated with how iCloud stores files - I've got 1.1 TB of files but a laptop with only 500GB. I can't select which folders stay in the cloud and what stay on the computer.
Dumped Dropbox several months ago for other reasons. Now looking for another alternative to iCloud.
Any suggestions for something Dropbox-like that isn't Dropbox or iCloud?
@Jason844 I know little about iCloud and Apple. After seeing people lose accounts at cloud hosting sites, Google and esp Microsoft, which makes them lose their files, sometimes a lifetime's worth, with no notice, I migrated everything to an external drive and plan on setting up my own "cloud" so I can access my files from multiple devices.
I've heard people pruning their files to a portable drive, esp older stuff they don't use any longer, and haven't opened in a long time, to reduce the amount they send to the cloud.
I don't trust the cloud anymore. I left Dropbox a long time ago.
I don't even know what options are out there on a consumer user level now other than Dropbox, Google Drive, MS One Drive and iCloud.
