Usually I love music that's so deep fried that it sounds like it's playing too loud in a car next door, but "LOVELY BASTARDS" is one of those tracks where I wish there was a mix from inside the car

Over the past week, Russia has launched 1,580 guided bombs, nearly 1,100 attack drones, and 15 missiles of various types against Ukraine, Zelensky reported. He emphasized that these weapons contain at least 102,000 foreign components, proving that sanctions are not working effectively. Every loophole allowing Russia to bypass restrictions must be closed. Pressure on Russia is needed to stop these attacks and end the war.

Russian forces attacked civilians in Kherson with a drone while they were restoring a building. Another deliberate strike on innocent people just trying to rebuild.

🇦🇺🇺🇦 The delivery of Australian Abrams tanks to Ukraine faces delays due to disruptions at the logistics hub in Poland, reports ABC. The issue follows the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine, halting operations at the Polish center.

Russian military blogger Romanov confirms that Ukraine controls Demidovka, Belgorod region.

"The settlement is under Ukrainian control. Russian forces withdrew from the area, allowing the enemy to occupy it. Additionally, the moment of road demining by the enemy and the removal of “dragon’s teeth” was missed. Russian forces are now storming the settlement."

#Musk Is Positioned to Profit Off Billions in New Government Contracts

Within the #Trump admin’s #Defense Dept, #ElonMusk’s #SpaceX rocketry is being trumpeted as the nifty new way the #Pentagon could move #military cargo rapidly around the globe.

In the #Commerce Dept, SpaceX’s #Starlink satellite internet service will now be fully eligible for the federal govt’s $42B rural #broadband push, after being largely shut out during the #Biden era.

At #NASA, after repeated nudges by #Musk, the agency is being squeezed to turn its focus to #Mars, allowing #SpaceX to pursue federal contracts to deliver the first humans to the distant planet.

And at the #FAA & the White House itself, #Starlink satellite dishes have recently been installed, to expand federal government internet access.

in reply to Nonilex

#Musk, as the architect of a group he called the Dept of Govt *Efficiency*, has taken a chain saw to the apparatus of governing, spurring #chaos & dread by pushing out some 100k #FederalWorkers & shutting down various agencies, though the govt has not been consistent in explaining the expanse of his #power.

But in selected spots across the govt, #SpaceX is positioning itself to see billions in new federal contracts or other support….

A while ago I discovered someone made an e-ink Portal-inspired calendar. Well last week I finally caved, and bought all the parts to make my own!

This was my first foray into using an ESP32 (as well as soldering) so all things considered, I'm happy that it's running at all given my lack of skills in the areas.

If you want to make your own, the printables page has the models and a link to the GH with the code, BoM, and build instructions:

While I'm waiting for Apple to finally approve changes to my developer profile - which currently stops me from finishing an iOS project - I've been doing some Z80 doodling.

Ceres is a tiny multitasking kernel running on bare (no ROM) ZX Spectrum hardware. The first task to actually do something is the print task. It uses a custom 6x7 font, although it's currently printing it as 8x7 so it feels a little wide.

Next will be keyboard scanning in the kernel... that will be fun(?)...

Overseas Canadians: now that an election's been called, I recommend getting registered to vote from abroad right away. This applies if you're just going to be on a trip on election day too. I've done it before, when an election was called while I was on my honeymoon, and it wasn't a difficult process at all. Something cool about voting from an embassy, honestly. travel.gc.ca/travelling/living…

I really enjoyed that book. But Danial Mason’s The Winter Soldier was fantastic.
