That obnoxious reply guy has a few hundred followers for a reason. Don't be derailed by a man who is a small time jerk who had his ouchee hurt by two competent smart successful women with thousands of followers who have the uppity gall to disagree with tiny him openly, and without apology to his undeserved ego.
We've spent most of our lives being doubted and questioned and attacked and abused by lesser men. They can't stand when (inferior, stupid) women disagree with them for actual reasons like the actual inferior men they are.

I just block those types right away. I never hear from them again. It's one of the greatest functions on mastodon, 1 click blocking.

@maddad Yep. My problem lately has been the constant "Reply Guy" attitude.
Seems no matter what I post, I get long debates, challenges, Debbie Downers, anything but just constructive conversation or even support. (Obviously my besties are wonderful, I'm not including people like you)
And men seem to hate to admit they could be wrong. I've never said that before, but I'm noticing it a lot lately.
The never-wrongers are the worst for sure, it's hopeless trying to have a discussion with them.
I feel fortunate that I have a small account with a relatively small number of followers when I see people posting like this. I see the attacks (in situations like this) without having to experience it directly.
People should not have to stay small and live small to be safe. I wish more people would remember that we are all human, and we all deserve to be treated with respect.
I am so sorry that you are getting this, Laffy. I am starting to see it more and more frequently, which is probably still a lot less than you are seeing it (because I do not see *nearly* all of the replies to your posts). I would like to see the Fediverse move more towards etiquette, compassion, and generally being more nice again*!

Mostly I see comments there that are like one-liners with a short point made and then they take off. I did keep Bluesky for the few times I needed to see a thread or post there you can’t see unless logged in there.
At least I have you available there, Laffy, if you skip coming into Mastodon. I try to be sure I’m commenting on your post on mstdn.social here, not the bridged post.
