FDR led the US and the World out of the Great Depression, and success in WWII. Harry Truman followed suit but the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution formally set term limits on US Presidency. The JFK-Nixon election of 1960 was very close and Nixon refused to contest the results to keep America's image on the global front, intact. LBJ saw the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which led to the South, leaning Republican. After a scandalous 2nd Presidential term for Nixon, Jimmy Carter took office on a platform of love and trust.

So here’s one of my occasional contributions to the conspiracy theory genre: Donald Trump was jealous of Jeffrey Epstein because Epstein got to Virginia Giuffre first. Just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. 😉

I want to say something snarky but this really is just another sign of how degraded the GOP has become. No respect for the rule of law, no respect for anyone who cares about justice.

Scientists have successfully used human stem cells
to patch a hole in a monkey's retina,
restoring the primate's vision and marking a successful step forward in the quest to treat age-related vision loss.

As detailed in a study published this month in the journal Stem Cell Reports,
the team led by Michiko Mandai at the Kobe City Eye Hospital in Japan
focused on fixing what's called a macular hole,
an ocular condition associated with aging.

As we get older, the vitreous
— the gel-like fluid that fills human eyeballs and maintains their rounded shapes
— shrinks away from the retina, which sometimes causes a tear in the macula.

These injuries are consequential.
The macula sits at the center of the retina and is the most active part of the eye, responsible for central vision and light processing.

💯 water is familiar so people don’t think too much about it’s physical properties — like that water is heavy.

A 3 m x 1 m x 1 m block of water weighs 3000 kg (3 tonnes) and is traveling at like 30-50 km/h , so it has the energy of a truck driving down the road. But that block is just a tiny part of the 3 m wall of water 😳
