I had a VW Fastback whose heat exchanger wore through and filled the cabin with carbon monoxide on a cold winter drive. After a four-hour drive, my college roommate (still one of my closest friends) slept for 24 hours. I think it nearly killed us. At that point, my parents bought me a new car, and my uncle used one of his moving vans (he owned a Mayflower franchise) to haul away that VW.

That’s a winner all right @Jay Bryant. I also had one that you had to climb over the stick shift to get to the driver seat and one of the windows didn’t close completely (not good in the winter). Fortunately, I was able to get rid of that one fast.
