@Gerhard D. @Lett Osprey 🍉 @Gustavino Bevilacqua @Melissa BearTrix No I did not forgot : ) I said use Quad9 as DNS. You may deny Google on all applications yet if you leave DNS on 8.8.8.8 it's google or Mossad DNS fyi. LOL As it is complex to do on Router I left that for OS indeed, there are simple tutorials online to use pfSense and UnBound or Bound9 etc etc. or you can do this in if config's nanowhich is mambo Jambo
@Gerhard D. @Lett Osprey 🍉 @Gustavino Bevilacqua @Melissa BearTrix I agree, I changed it perma on router (Cisco) and OS as on each level where DNS applies in that long bridged network branch of mine. Then I use even Chrome but google does not know me. Also WireGuard from AP, multi hopping to resolve in a proxied dns 127.0.0.1#12 (e.g) > I proxy on each surface as Linux or iMac and self-host as well 3 servers. And with proxied I mean not only the Bridge to far, but as well DNS on each of them all. I'm near invisible.
There are lists of tracking and scamming servers e.g. on github, prepared for copy and paste or automatic update of the hosts file(s). Scripts, browser extensions, applications to periodically update from those sources exist as well, as well as lists of currently active dns over tls public, open servers run by human rights NGOs.
On Microsoft, you take extra care: Windows will check your hosts file, and if it detects Microsoft servers in it, it will reset your hosts to the one entry template Windows setup ships. I start a PowerShell script generating a copy of hosts every 5 min and compare a current checksum with a stored, initial one, immediately alerting me and pausing its run when it detected changes. Of course, the »original« checksum has to be reinitialized after legitimate and manual edits. I have the script recalculate a new checksum when the stored value is empty, so deleting it and restarting the script is enough.
@mupan 📚 @Lett Osprey 🍉 @Melissa BearTrix @Gerhard D. @Gustavino Bevilacqua Look at my profile what I automated so far, you'd be amazed but indeed one must have set some Automation for Jobs once booted or just a shebang will do to launch if it does not launch automatically
@Gustavino Bevilacqua @Lett Osprey 🍉 @Melissa BearTrix Although there is a layer of array or env with me on each layer another which makes it practically impossible to trace unless you use a Quantum server PC. While I'm not hiding at all as I pay for 2 services > is just a fend off Google shield thing and the rest of Mega-Corps. So in fact look at the plan. AP (bolstered and DNS resolving recursive bounding on127.0.0.1#38 e.g.) From there a WireGuard network with multihop and obfuscation that delivers socks5> that one proxied DNS it. ; )
lol , is just to test them mofo's, but that is the way. So in edit and sorry> just use Mullvad VPN where you'll have core layer 1 for daily driver as such you will have keys for VPS Wireguard as well> from localhost 5$/month
@Melissa BearTrix @Blue Witch Gwen unless it has a #6 in the end it is an array to much which is number 6 as 192.168.1.2 is your ISP set for your pc 192.168.1.1 is your router's ISP but there can be no extra range unless you proxied which should be in the DNS LoopBack.
@Melissa BearTrix @Blue Witch Gwen 192.169.1.1 (recommendation) It is reachable by pasting that ip in your browser and you'll reach the log-in interface of your ISP's Access Point (use the provided simple log in credentials) Now change SSID to one of your flavor, change the password to a real one as most come with passwords we all know btw. changing default ports is a step to far I guess now as this is in nano using bash but having done that is already ok. use quad9 dns. from OS simply as the rest would be a bit too mambo Jambo. oh yes in edit, sorry enable auto-update and update it while you on it as well.
Thank you for your kind reply. I shall refrain from sticking my unwanted nose into your life in future. Please accept my apologies.
Mind you, I was actually replying to @MelissaBearTrix and not to you.
Cheers.
PS. I also don't appear to have the entire thread for some reason. So while it may have been yours in the first place, you only had one toot in what I can actually see in my timeline.

And 10.1.2.3 it's easier to remember (and to write) than 192.168.136.238 😉

Obviously, if everything on your network is 192.168.1.x then ignore the 192.168.0.x because they won't work.
Have fun.
