If the European Commission wants to maintain the moral advantage that it claims Europe has, it must immediately impose sanctions on the US, Israel, and the UK.
But does it have a moral advantage? That is the big question. @EUCommission
Local sources report that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received a message through US ambassador M. Issa in Beirut, stating that Israel has no intention of escalating against Lebanon as long as no so-called 'hostile actions' come from the Lebanese side This assertion comes against the backdrop of the ongoing US–Israeli attacks on Iran that began earlier today which resulted in the deaths of nearly 90 people, most of them children
🤡 Persian Gulf states condemned Iranian missile strikes targeting US bases on their territory in retaliation for the US-Israeli “pre-emptive” assault on Iran, calling them violations of sovereignty. 🤡
Legal experts have repeatedly denounced US and Israeli attacks over the past year, including those of last June, as illegal under international law.
For Marko Milanovic, a professor of public international law at the University of Reading School of Law, who has written extensively on the topic, that argument still stands.
“The strikes are clearly illegal, in that they are a breach of the UN Charter, which prohibits unilateral resort to force between states,” he told Middle East Eye after Saturday’s strikes.
“Self-defence is the only possible exception to that prohibition that Israel and the US could rely on, but the requirements for lawful self-defence are not met.”
@Fou I read that these strikes are just the older arsenal to poke and that real attack as retaliatory will happen gradually and more deadly as long the aggression lasts.

Mariners are advised that VHF broadcasts or statements indicating closure of the Strait of Hormuz are not legally binding and do not constitute a lawful restriction on navigation under international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), unless implemented and enforced in accordance with applicable legal frameworks.
Foreign affairs committee chair Emily Thornberry has celebrated the lack of UK involvement in US strikes on Iran. But there’s a couple of issues, not just with this claim, but the entire track record of the person making it…

It’s great news that Thornberry has the foresight to recognise the illegal war on Iran for what it is… only, it’s a little late to merit an applause and hardly serves as penance for her past support of Israel.
Another glaring issue with Thornberry’s comments is that the UK is involved in the attack on Iran. On 28 February, when UK PM Keir Starmer FINALLY got round to making a public statement, he admitted it

Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, stated in an interview with NBC news that he doesn't know why "the US administration insists to start a negotiation" and attack the other party in the middle of it.
He added that "perhaps, it was others who dragged the US" into the conflict, as joint US-Israeli air strikes on Iran killed dozens of Iranians on Saturday, including schoolgirls.
During the interview, Araghchi stated that the US and Iran had nearly reached an agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program on Thursday.
The foreign minister also added that he has been in touch with neighbouring countries following Iran's retaliation strikes on American bases in the region.

He is “quite confident” that even US inspectors could eventually gain access under a fair and durable agreement.
More time is needed to finalize technical details, with talks scheduled in Vienna on Monday.
However, US President Donald Trump struck a more skeptical tone, saying he is “not happy” with the pace of negotiations and has not yet decided whether to authorize military strikes. He said Iran is “not willing to give us what we have to have,” adding, “We’ll see what happens.”
Iran unleashed a furious missile and drone assault across the Arabian Gulf on Saturday in response to a surprise US-Israeli attack, but one city in particular appeared to bear the brunt of it: Dubai.
The Gulf emirate, one of seven in the UAE, is the region’s good-time capital, where lucrative business deals can be sealed and celebrated. On Saturday, it was engulfed in billowing smoke and flames as missiles and drones rained down on it.
The strikes have more than just geopolitical significance, denting Dubai's reputation for being an oasis of calm and commerce in the Middle East.
........
Capitalising on its low tax rate and smooth bureaucracy, Dubai has become a magnet for London bankers and American “finance bros." Its financial institutions have served as a haven for Sudanese militia leaders dealing in gold to Russian and Ukrainian expats fleeing war in Eastern Europe.

@Fou Is what I said before, and it looks like it. Wait Russia and China are on the line of supply and diplomatically behind Iran. If you ask me, remember this day as the day the world started a war reaching all parts of it. Because of a fanatic Nethanyahu deranged anti Muslim far right Hitler and the Mussolini from UsA and his stooges. I saw this coming since 4 years ago when Russia invaded Ukraine, some people know and can confirm my statements back then to be laughed away.

• A “peace deal is within our reach.”
• Iran has agreed it will “never, ever” possess nuclear material capable of producing a bomb.
Existing enriched uranium stockpiles would be:
• Blended down to the lowest possible level.
• Converted into fuel in a way that would be irreversible.
• There would be “zero accumulation, zero stockpiling, and full verification.”
• Iran is prepared to grant the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) full access to nuclear sites.
