Today’s #FinishOrFrogAlong Q&A — what is one of your favorite finished items that you have made (ever, not just during FOFA)? Feel free to answer multiple times if you have many things you’d like to share with us. I love getting inspired by all the work you’ve done.

My fave is the Aurora Cabin Shawl MKAL by Stephen West from 2 years ago, one of the first projects I did when I started knitting again. Made many mistakes, including color choices, but it has some cashmere and it's big and it really helped me get my knitting mojo back. And it was so fun to make, no carrying yarn, just carrying stitches from row below. In winter I wear it almost every day!

I can't add to anything already said about your project, Karen, except that I wish I could knit like that. ❤

@claralistensprechen5th @LoraHughes That's the cool thing about this pattern, it looks complex but you're only ever knitting with one color all the way across. The pattern are all created by slipping stitches from the row below instead of knitting them. Easy peasy.

Well.
I'm going to have to try that one then. But I tell you what--it impresses everyone who sees it, and that's priceless.

@LoraHughes They look brighter in the photo, closer to what I wanted. In person it's more muddled. N3xt time, I'll opt for a bit more contrast. Love it anyway!

Oh, it's okay not to change a thing because the texture alone is the message, and all those undertones make statements too. It's lovely.

@claralistensprechen5th @LoraHughes Thank you! If you check out the projects by others, it's so interesting how much variation is achieved through color choice.

My knitting has been basic utility, so hands down the best knitting project I've finished was that Emotional Support Chicken!

I made this bag last year. I love it because it turned out even better than I expected. Whenever I carry it, someone asks where I got it, and the response to "I made it" is always "You're kidding!".

the Mario hat I made for my boys!

Except it was the first time I was doing colour work so got the tension all wrong and it was too small for either one!

Still, I’m really proud of it, as it was quite early on in my knitting adventure.
