We found several wild blackberry bushes as well and picked a couple handfuls.

Decided to make wild blackberry jam.

Didn't snap a picture if picking the blackberries. We were too busy eating them fresh and then when we decided to pick some for jamming we filled our hands and had no ability to take a picture 😅

We put the small bit we made into a used but clean glass container. It's chilling in the fridge now. We didnt make enough to can properly, but we'll have a nice bit of jam on our toast tomorrow morning.

(We used granulated sugar here. But you can also use local honey or even no added sweetener at all.)

reminds me of my childhood, picking buckets full of blackberries over the North Downs for my grandmother to make into what felt like hundreds of jars of jam.

Passed a couple of mulberry trees on my walk today, with similar results. Made a good day better. ✌️

@fbarton - Climate change, yo.

(serious though. Getting warmer earlier. Earlier growing season. More pollen, etc et al.)
