i have an enormous amount of respect for PCB fab workers. PCBs are ubiquitous and mostly invisible, but it takes a surprising and hard to understand amount of expertise to make them reliably at any scale and price, much less at the scale and price we're seeing

Deja vu re: Motorola wafer fab facility next to its semiconductor HQ on 52nd St. in Phoenix--when Motorola SPS took a fatal nosedive, that location became a superfund site and was such when TSMC took over that location.

@claralistensprechen5th A local one to me burned when one of their lamination presses went wonky over the weekend, and wowie was that nasty. They ended up demolishing the building despite it not being too badly fire damaged because it stank. (I know the owner and he was mad that the fire dept didn't charge in and put out the fire, but I sure wouldn't. Just looking at photos of the smoke plume nearly gave me mesothelioma.)
