Posted this photo before but resharing for #Doorsday and #FotoVorschlag (“Urbex/lost place”).

A doorway from the ruins of the Imperial Citadel of Huế, #Vietnam — once the seat of power of the Nguyễn dynasty until the abdication of the last emperor in 1945. Since then it endured the ravages of neglect, weather, and the wars of the 20th century (see the bullet holes). The ruins are a well-kept heritage site now, but still a “lost place” haunted by history.

interesting history and such beautiful colors remained overtime🤩
I feel it's such a shame that the traveling I did in my early 20s was before digital photography, but moreso before I even knew how to use a camera or evidently knew what light was 😂

@Star12Mt I feel the same! I wish I could go back in time to when I was growing up and take more (and better) pictures of my life and adventures. But film was expensive and you only had 36 shots to a roll, so… 🤷🏽‍♂️😩

I know, I got to do a work study trip in college where we went to the Taj Mahal. I have one picture of myself to the side of it, completely in a shadow (so I guess I didn't even take it). Now all I can think of is all the cool angles and photos you could take
