Silver grey
An autumn feel
To a late August day
My brakes are mended
And I notice the calm
That comes from knowing
I can slow down
Control my descent.
Love is like
The soft song
Of a stately raven
Calling deep and low
It is felt more than heard
Listen,
you can hear the thistles rustle
As they dance
In the coolness of the morning
A pale sun
Silvering their prickles
The whole scrubby field
Is shimmering like tinsel
And behind their dance
My lovely hill is lit
In gold
