A month or so ago I made an announcement that abandoned accounts will be deleted. This is mainly due to my setting a ceiling on the number of users that can register on this Instance. The ceiling is set to try to keep the Instance usable. I can only afford so many resources.
If you need to take a sabbatical or are going to be off line for a while please let me know so that I will not delete your account. If I am not warned that you are not going to be able to use your account then I delete accounts that reach 60 days with no activity. I of course will be flexible with this for typically active users.

No Vulgar Display Names
Okay, I thought this would be self evident though apparently not. As I want this Instance to be accessible to all ages and demographics with a diverse outlook on ideologies there are certain expectations that need to be met by all users. Being polite is a given and I will delete an account over someone that cannot control their behavior on this Instance. I did not really think it was necessary to make a rule that states that you cannot use a vulgar or obscene display name. I was wrong. I deleted the account, they can try again with an appropriate display name if they choose to.
I officially updated the TOS & Rules to reflect that using a vulgar display name is not allowed. I will be the judge of what is vulgar and/or obscene.

Server Issues
Certificate Expiration
Due to an issue with an update to SELinux and it's targeting profile certbot ,the tool I use to renew my site certificate, failed. As SELinux was not allowing it to write the updates for the renewal process. I have corrected the issue though it has taken some time to get the certificate renewed.
I am sorry for any inconvenience that the delay in renewal may have caused. I hope everyone enjoys their day.

in reply to Unus Nemo • •@Unus Nemo Good to know. I just joined this instance because I favor the Friendica format but was unable to find more than 3 active instances with more than one user, via the fediverse observer list, 2 of which are usable and 1 of which is frequently disfunctional.
I had every intention of staying active here, but checking for my posts here via elsewhere in the Fediverse, I find my posts here just aren't arriving in the fediverse web in timely fashion so activity is going to remain difficult for me as long as that's true; activity is dependent on interactivity, I'm afraid. You have my word that I'll do my best; I just miss my favorite bots and larger list of contacts.

I cannot control propagation anymore than any other administrator of any Instance. It is the nature of the Fediverse. The only Instance that is going to immediately get your posts is the local Instance. The good news is that the more you interact with the other nodes (Instances) the faster the propagation will get with those nodes. That means interacting with other members of other nodes is important to building propagation speed. If you check how quickly your posts propagate to a node that no member of this Instance ever communicates with or has any contacts there then it may take a very long time indeed. It may even become so old before propagation that the node will just reject the post as out dated.
I do have a relay configured for the Instance though that will not guarantee a connection to a specific Instance, especially if they are not on that relay. As we get more members communicating with diffe

As far as Bots go, I have not had time to care about any thus far. Point out any that you think would be favorable and will not spam members. I will look into them. I am not against users having Bot Accounts, I am against Bots for Advertising, Religion or Politics. Also note that if you follow a Bot account from another Instance then you will see their activity in your Friends Conversation Tab.
You might want to check out Friendica World they are a much larger Instance with over a thousand users. Thus you will find propagation may be more acceptable with that Instance.

Goodness--I wonder why the fediverse observer didn't mention Friendica World? I'm also wondering why I didn't get a notification that you replied. When I looked at my Settings, I saw only Notifications for email and push notifications to one's desktop.
I'll take this time to mention what I do like about your site--the Save to Folder feature actually works! You can add different folders to the group! And your Circles actually work too! Circles is one of the features that any given refugee from the now-defunct GPlus is fond of. And of course there are the fun bots I'm fond of, like Capybara Every Hour and the one a bunch of us have fun with, Endless Screaming ( @scream) because it's quite interactive when invoked. In other fave activities, I play Hashtag Games but that def requires the high propagation rate for interactivity. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for bringing up what does work, that is awesome to know. I do not use all Friendica's features myself and I would not know if they were broken. If you find broken features let me know. I will look into it. Sorry, propagation is not a feature that a single Instance 😉 can influence. Though if it is a failing piece of code I can certainly fix it.

The fact is I started this Instance within the first week of being on the Fediverse so I did not even know all of Friendica's features (and still do not) before I had an Instance up and running. There are other Addons I can enable though I have not at the moment as I do not know they would be useful. So at this point I have a minimal set enabled. Basically, only what I am using. Let me know if you have a use for a certain Addon and I can enable it for you.

Since I'm not a coder as such, I can't say that I am aware of all standard Friendica features to know everything that works or doesn't work, I'd be happy to keep in touch with what I find here, and compare to other Friendica sites have/had going (one is defunct, actually: Outsourced Math). For all its issues, your site so far is the best one I've been on.
