As a Canadian I've always been good at assimilating into US culture.

But I've also always felt a strong affinity to European culture.

The whole British vs French history that is uniquely Canadian.

I suspect the US is about to experience a loss of something they didn't even know they had.

The cultural departure of Canadian, European, and Scandinavian people that have contributed to their arts, business and science.

There’s an ongoing joke about how, if the surrealists had been born in Mexico, they would have been considered realists. I’m here to tell you, it is not a joke but an anecdote. As proof, allow me to present to you exhibit A: the picture G just sent me from her commute back home 🀯🀣

Corporate cars play a crucial role in the EU's transition to zero-emission mobility.

We propose:

πŸ’Ό Tax benefits for companies supporting the switch
πŸš– Actions for taxis and ride-hailing
πŸ›« More decarbonised vehicles at airport rentals

An electric car should be the norm, not a luxury.

Is the car provided by your company zero-emission?

Hello, my name's Grant. I am on disability, as having to deal with schizophrenia for a majority of my life. I’m getting proper care for this, and have managed to stay afloat well for some time. However, my expenses have increased, and I’m battling to stay housed. Any assistance coming in, would be for covering basic living expenses, to maintain my housing, electricity and other utilities. Even with using strategic frugality, and having expenses down as low as possible, there is still a small budget shortfall that will cause me to become un-housed. I’m seeking assistance to help cover the shortfall in the utilities. Due to being disabled, I am not able to find work to help cover this shortfall.

While it is still early days, I think the #spritely software stack is really promising!

"Concerned at the UK Government’s intentions to review the #HumanRights framework and #JudicialReview we have come together to state:

While every system could be improved, and protecting #rights and #freedoms for all is a balancing act, our #HumanRightsAct is a proportionate and well-drafted protection for the fundamental #liberties and #responsibilities of everyone in this country.

The Act guarantees the rights to #FreeSpeech and expression, to life, to #liberty, to security, to privacy, to assembly, and to #FreedomOfReligion or belief. It prohibits torture and guarantees fair trials and the #RuleOfLaw.

Judicial review is an indispensable mechanism for individuals to assert those rights and freedoms against the power of the state." humanrightsact.org.uk/

Years ago, my friend’s company routinely sent her to CuraΓ§ao for contract work. One time, in a connection through Miami, US immigration objected to her work visa as not good for the US. She wasn’t working in the US - she was just changing planes. They tore it up on the spot. She had to get another one when she got home. Now I think she’d find herself in a concrete cell in Arizona.

Do not travel to the US unless you have to. Don’t even change planes there. Not worth the risk.

You've just lost credibility by using "a.i.". It's hot garbage on a good day.

Nice job using it responsibly. Keep up the good work.
People just want to see red once you mention AI, but when used in this targeted way it is very useful and saves time so you can show us these articles sooner.
As solitha said, promoting correct usage. Don't mind the hate.

Clearly.

To prove this, look at a square piece of paper.
It has 2 sides, the front and the back. The mathematical notation for 'square' is with a small 2 to the upper right. The mathematical notation for 'cube' has a small 3 in that location. Therefore, it follows that a cube must have 3 sides.

I forgot you can't just run a shell script with rsync calls via cron on macOS because of... security. I think my workaround will do though.

I write a shell script and then create an Automator application that calls the shell script. I then add a cron job to open the application.

I need to check if it runs when the screen is locked. I'm pretty sure it does but I will test again.

The truly astonishing thing about my Canadian friends boycotting US products?

Discovering that the US still makes, well, ANYTHING.

(For the record: please keep boycotting! Yes, it sucks for us here, but the only thing these people understand is pain.)
