So we are all supposed to be impressed and jump on board. Guess what, many people have. They have completely forgotten that Cloud is a marketing term and not a technology term. From a Technology point of view we call The Cloud a server, or server farm. It would be nice if those that worked in the industry understood that.

I got bashed for a humorous post about the Danish taking over California. The person felt we must only be serious about the threats from the Trump admin.

I blocked him. I concur we must take the issues seriously, but if you think we make a difference by only making dour posts (or that we will survive the next 3 years, 11 months without a sense of humor), you are wrong.

STOP criticizing people who care about the issues you do! Aim at the other side. We each need to survive this in our own way.

yes, it would, but there should be plenty available already. I’ve been using stainless straws for over a decade. And most hot beverage containers are stainless, except fast food/take out. Ugh. Seriously! The steel/aluminum tariff thing is already potentially causing grossly more plastic production. Coka Cola co. has already made plans to produce more plastic bottles in lieu of raising prices on cans. 🤮

Two big improvements to my live DJing process:

1. I figured out how to fix the tempo on some DnB/jungle tracks that Mixxx analyzes incorrectly. You just right click on the track and adjust to 3/2 or 2x the original tempo. Sometimes you need to move the beat grid to align correctly. But these steps can be performed in about 10-20 seconds, if not done beforehand.

2. I started using the playlists for my previous mixes as a way to select tracks. I'm familiar with these tracks, they are already analyzed and corrected, and it narrows down my selection enough to speed up the process dramatically, so I can spend more time planning and executing transitions.

I feel unstoppable now! Watch out for more live mixes!

Today in "Resurrecting obscure computers from the 8-bit Cambrian explosion of the early Eighties": this Philips VG5000µ is back in business.

Also sold by Radiola and Schneider (in white), this very French computer was designed by La Radiotechnique (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiotec…). It sports a Z80 at 4 MHz and, as its sleek chassis proudly proclaims, 24 KB of RAM (and an 18 KB ROM). It has tape and cartridge ports.

Governor Tarkin has enough on his plate as it is. Times are rapidly changing, and the Empire is growing stronger as the days pass. A new Intelligence Officer is appointed to the governor's command, though, and one wonders how will the two get along. He has never made it a secret how he feels about Force-users, even if he hides behind pleasantries and the neutrality in his words. There's only one exception to the rule: Lord Vader, but could there ever be another in the future?

It's lore heavy, storyline driven, goes into deep detail about the Galactic Empire's exploits, and revolves around Moff Tarkin and an original character named Lady Nolana Disa (a Sith) and the affair they will eventually have.

(This obviously takes place after the promotion of his protégé and former lover, Natasi Daala. The two are no longer together.)

If you're a fan of #StarWars, then I have a story for you. This one's called Shadows of Desire. It's lore heavy, storyline driven, goes into deep detail about the Galactic Empire's exploits, and revolves around Moff Tarkin and an original character named Lady Nolana Disa (a Sith) and the affair they will eventually have.

Governor Tarkin has enough on his plate as it is. Times are rapidly changing, and the Empire is growing stronger as the days pass. A new Intelligence Officer is appointed to the governor's command, though, and one wonders how will the two get along. He has never made it a secret how he feels about Force-users, even if he hides behind pleasantries and the neutrality in his words. There's only one exception to the rule: Lord Vader, but could there ever be another in the future?
