No, this is not the Twilight Zone, but America.

Trump says 'we're going back to plastic straws.' Is the paper straw dead?

"If something's hot, they don't last very long, like a matter of minutes, sometimes a matter of seconds. It's a ridiculous situation."

All those who drink hot coffee or hot cocoa through a straw, raise your hand. 🙄

@Cosmic Librarian I do not use a straw with hot drinks, and I believe most people do not. For cold beverages I have metal straws.

And by the way...it's dangerous. But if you are a twit, you might not know that. Just sayin'...

What a weird article. 1st, it discusses dangers, the first one is burning yourself. 🙄 Then, there is no mention of stainless. 🙄 Glass, foam, plastic. Where’s the stainless steel options here?!

@DEDGirl

I know. It's all so dumb. This is what this creepy man has done to us.
And would the steel be subject to tariffs? 😁

in reply to Cosmic Librarian

yes, it would, but there should be plenty available already. I’ve been using stainless straws for over a decade. And most hot beverage containers are stainless, except fast food/take out. Ugh. Seriously! The steel/aluminum tariff thing is already potentially causing grossly more plastic production. Coka Cola co. has already made plans to produce more plastic bottles in lieu of raising prices on cans. 🤮
