The image features a person holding a colorful sign with a vibrant depiction of the Statue of Liberty. The artwork is abstract, with swirling patterns of blue, orange, red, and yellow, creating a dynamic and eye-catching effect. The Statue of Liberty is recognizable by its iconic crown and robe, though the colors and style are unconventional. The sign is framed in black, and the person is holding it up in front of a grand building with classical architecture, including large columns and intricate stonework. The sky is clear and blue, suggesting a sunny day. The building in the background appears to be a government or historical structure, possibly a courthouse or capitol building, given its ornate design and prominent columns.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
1977 U.S. pressing
I am overjoyed!
I know this is seasonably inappropriate, but I couldn’t give less of a shit.
I found this in a used bin today; the record is pristine, and the book is complete and fully intact to the jacket.
This is essentially the entire TV special on record, with a book to read along, and wonderful illustrations of the whole #Peanuts gang to help tell the story.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite #christmas related thing ever. It doesn’t have to be the holidays for me to watch it either. It makes me happy like few other things do.
I have four different presses of Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack, but I had never come across THIS before, particularly in such good shape.
It’s only June, but it’s FULLY Christmas in my house today!
So happy!

The US edition of The Guardian is my favorite daily (which weirdly is much better than their UK counterpart)
Teen Vogue, weirdly?? just keeps knocking it out of the park
ProPublica for deep investigative reporting, best in the game
For long form, The New Yorker is full of chaff but when it’s good it’s so good
Minnesotan Reformer and Sahan Journal do great MSP reporting, but prob too local to be of interest for you?
Beyond all that, I tend to discover good reporting via other people’s posts on here
#NoKingsDay #NoKingsProtest #NoKing #NoKingProtests
A 'NO KINGS' protest is now underway in #Pasadena at Colorado Boulevard & Lake Avenue.
A large crowd gathered, more than a thousand people, stretches for blocks in all directions, and is orderly and festive, just peaceful
📸 Pasadena Now
#NoKings #Harleysville is a soft wrap. Hundreds of folks lined up along Main Street (PA Route 63) in Lower Salford Township, Pa. to #protest with signs and bells starting at 3:30. Video on Facebook indicates easily upwards of a thousand people. For reference the township has a population of about 15,000.
Enthusiastic support from local traffic in our red district with honking horns and friendly waves. Only a few scattered folks driving by with one thumb down or one finger up. The passing Cybertruck driver did not look proud.
Lots of friendly faces I’ve seen around and many I met for the first time. Inspired some real #hope in me today that’s been lacking recently.

Shout out to all the #NoKings protesters today in small towns and cities.
Sometimes it feels like there’s not much that can be done from the periphery. But flexing these muscles is vital to the movement.

We had 3 people total in our protest. I bet 300 people saw our messaging, and about half of them gave us thumbs up, honked and waved, or shouted encouragement. Only 5 people openly supported Trump, and I think I changed one of their minds when he came back and parked to debate me. This is in a small town in a red state in the deep south. We made a difference today, and it felt awesome! I hope others take encouragement from this. If you're sitting on the fence, go for it! SHOW UP! Even that tiny contribution can have a huge impact. You encourage and draw attention to those who are more vocal with your mere presence. This was my first protest ever, and I am so glad I went!

@cybervegan @SyHoekstra I feel like, being autistic, we are way more likely to end up at things like this. So many of our common traits predispose us to it. Strong sense of social justice, refusal to conform based on mere popularity, always being the outsider so we are used to it... Honestly, we are probably way more likely to run into other autistic people when we protest than at other times.
I am 100% certain that at *least* one of the other 2 protesters with me yesterday was neurodivergent. One of them was so blatantly so that I was genuinely surprised he didn't pipe up after I mentioned I'm autistic.
I'm excited about those big crowds, too! But in these small towns is where they most need to hear about it.
I am so fucking proud of my nation today, regardless. Turning out, standing in solidarity, saying no to tyranny. I have hope again! And wow, do I have goosebumps when I look at all the pictures under the #NoKings hashtag.
Glad you had a good time out and about with others today as well Arron !
You are so right.
I also keep seeing the same people at similar places I think my county only has about 120,000 people. I think half the population will be affected by this big beautiful bullshit.
Have a good night! 💤
Take care!
You know Aaron, your experience today was very similar to what I experienced in the 1960s when we first started demonstrating against Nixon. And it gradually grows. Some of the people who saw you today and agreed with you will come the next time. You did a courageous thing my friend. This is how we preserve our democracy and our country. Well done.

It's much easier for me to tell people "not all Americans", when we see the numbers on the street.

This is the power of local protests. Locals see their fellow locals protesting. People they know and trust. It isn't a protest far away by some far off other people. I's by people they know and trust.
