Yeah, but he is a neovim user and I never got into neovim. I prefer vim. I find it completely hackable. I also prefer C to Lua. Never was able to get into Lua. Though most of Vim when you get past the core is written in vimscript itself. So if you are used to vimscript you can do a lot with it. You can also use, perl, python, lua etc, as I have my vim compiled to support them as well (even tcl). That is one of the reasons I love vim, it is so hackable. Emacs is great too, and I use it for list (slime with sbcl). Though emacs has never impressed me as much as vim. Yes, it is very extendable and lisp is a great language to work with. Though, I have moved on with a lot of my lisp work to python these days. Not that I never use lisp.

And do not even get me started on rust. Yes, I have rust installed on my system, and I use it to compile utilities such as the nu shell. Though, to me rust is a lot likeC with training wheels. Which is basically what google wanted it to be when they invested so heavily into it. I do not need them and a lot of times I just find them getting in the way. Making what should be a simple solution into a major project. That is just my opinion though. Honestly if you are looking for a new systems language over C, I would look toward zig over rust personally. It is not as mature as rust but it is very use able.
