Puritans once had a thing
Against guys and gals having a fling
So when it got dark
No one went to the park
The church would announce curfew with a bell ring.

(Image is from a magic lamp slide depicting the outcome of the poem, "Curfew Must Not Ring Tonight" by Rose Hartwick Thorpe, showing a young woman hanging on for dear life on the clapper of a church bell

Listen my children and you shall hear
A long tall tale about Paul Revere
One lantern for land
But he had two lanterns in hand
So he did a sea signal instead of sticking it up his rear.

mas.to/@yantor3d/1150520481691… yantor3d@mas.to - Last year, dissatisfied with the low quality of commercially available bike wheel lights, I set out to make my own.

Several kilograms of filament and several meters of LED strips later, I had a solution that worked. Bright, eye catching wheel lights that I only had to charge once a week.

I toyed with the idea of starting a small business to sell them online, but there were too many unknowns.

So I released them open source: instructables.com/DIY-3D-Print…

Ride brightly, my friends.

Well folks, Rogues Project is again full of hiccups so it's looking like I'll have to go back to My Portal for #HashtagGames and that just doesn't get out to the Fediverse very well. Getting throttled on Rogue's pretty much amounts to the same thing., therefore I just can't catch a break tonight.

Aha! Yes, that would explain it. It was behaving itself last night for Hashtag Games, so it looks like all is well at this point. Thanks for explaining.

Wild Kingdom's host, Marlin Perkins
Wondered what could he catch a wild turk in.
He interviewed locals
Who were taciturn yokels
So he just ate lunch: a jar of gherkins.

#WordWeavers 18/8: Do you carry any symbols from your own life into your stories?

It depends on the audience I'm writing to address. If they're as old as I am, they'll get the references because they share them. This is especially true if I'm lampooning something or someone in particular--it's my experiences by which I find what they're doing to be ridiculous.
