#WordWeavers 18/8: Do you carry any symbols from your own life into your stories?

It depends on the audience I'm writing to address. If they're as old as I am, they'll get the references because they share them. This is especially true if I'm lampooning something or someone in particular--it's my experiences by which I find what they're doing to be ridiculous.
