Just a little neighborhood aurora, all the way in Kansas.
The image features a night sky illuminated by a pinkish glow, with several stars visible. Silhouetted against the sky are two houses, one displaying warm light through its windows and a deck, while the other has a more subdued appearance.

This was maybe the first time I’ve really seen the aurora this far south even without the camera, and even through all the other light pollution. The intense red was fully visible.

Last year I stood in the middle of nowhere in Iowa and could kind of see some color but not like this.
