Naturally I have my own #TipsToGetByOn beginning with but not limited to #VictoryGardening in the way that tided people over through two World Wars and the Great Depression.

Urban and State laws have changed a lot since then and would impact the adaptation of practices then to current times, but here's one I'll start with that's of more recent origin:
Dollar Cost Averaging.

Basically, it's when you feel forced to buy any kind of meat at a price that is astronomical compared to when you were used to routinely buying it, buy accompanying vegetables in season to get them at below current price so that the cost "evens out". And look into extenders to "stretch" the rate of consumption of this pricey meat.
