Is it just my area, or are others in the United States seeing supply chain issues? My store was out of a lot of stuff and they said the warehouses were not getting certain products from manufacturers.

in CO, we're seeing differences between the big grocery chains and the smaller chains in keeping stock, probably because wholesalers are letting the big folks stock up first.

@paul_ipv6 could be. These are really big name products that this major retailer in my area cannot get for love or money. One is an egg (white) product, so that could be an Avian influenza thing.

we're early in the tarriff panic. based on covid pandemic shortages, i'm betting we'll see more and more of this in the next 2-4 weeks.

during the pandemic, we were forced to go back to shopping at walmart as the only store/grocery that could reliably get popular items. even the local king soopers (krogers) didn't have as much luck. regional/local stores were just screwed.

I'm in the lower Midwest (Missouri), and have been getting the feeling that something is up recently. The last couple of weeks when I did my grocery shopping, a lot of things were absent or scarce, no matter what store I looked in.

@Kim Possible
Fresh tomato shortages at Walmart over here in Oklahoma. They've also put the squeeze on oranges--went from selling them in bulk by the pound just went to selling them in bulk at 77ยข EACH.

@claralistensprechen5th You'd be surprised at how many of your fellow citizens do not realize that we can't grow everything here, or manufacture everything here. Isolationism is not just ill-advised. It's nearly impossible, unless you want to go without bananas or coffee or a will to live.
