so what?

if you do not want it gone then secure it properly. if you do not want people to steal it then discourage them completely. alter them permanently.

allowing the possibility of art destruction is a choice. you have 100% of the power. sad articles bemoaning your own side's choices helps nobody and nothing.

and "overpowered guards" is a joke. the targets could have been dismembered on site.

this weakness is a choice.

Seriously--this sort of thing is symptomatic of how billionairism is a mental disease related to Hoarding Disorder, complicated by a desire to be envied--and as a class, are in fact envied by each other, nevermind that Envy is one of the Deadly Sins.

They hoard sovereign currencies and when they're found to fluctuate on the global exchange, seek out non-sovereign invented currencies and gold without recognizing the irony that gold's value is set in terms of sovereign currency.

OF COURSE the entire lot is INSANE.
