@Europe Says Quite right about freight data being an economic indicator. What people watching the Dow Industrials continue to overlook is the Dow Transportation Index. The Dow Industrials, now called "The Dow" as if there's only one index, isn't the be-all end-all index. Look at Dow Transportations AND the Dow Utilities while you're at it.
