I heard that. Memphis is just a bit downriver from where I used to live in Illinois, the part of Illinois that is very much overrun with rednecks with red hats who cheer for the Confederacy with every re-enactment. They didn't wear red hats at the time--the fashion was white sheets. And I guess that's why the murder of MLK Jr had such an impact on me in my formative years. Memphis music is a far sight better than Nashville's, too.

Secret Service probably said he couldn't. That is asking for an assassination. They can ground the President if they want to. For any reason they feel like, and there's not too much he can do about it. If feel there is a threat, they'll stop the whole thing. Michelle Obama said it's like having a parent around you at all times.

This Regime is disgusting with its continued racism and violence and the political 'parties' responsible for opposition are asleep at the armchair they used to be phoning it in from. The people need more petitions and presence, because the representation that was supposed to be there, has fled from fascists, leaving constituents to fend for themselves-F*ck I*E, *rump, and everyone still listening to this moldy dry husk of a government or going to bat for flaccid RE-pubs or demz. 😓
