Radio Cairo, still suffering from transmitter gremlins, I'll bet. I remember them having fuzzy modulation even back in the 1980s, and they've been getting steadily worse since then. Back in the 1970s, the head of its English Service simply went by the name Rita and it was a delight to correspond with her about whatever was aired, and she sent me postage stamps--but that was on shortwave, not mediumwave. Now THOSE were some good ole days.
