If I could I would refer to #ToxicMasculinity as toxic masculine infantilism. Sadly being a self centered spoiled man baby is what we hate the most. But toxic masculinity isn't about individuals, its about a set of expected enforced standards that men feel bound by at all times to stay confined to or the lose their "man card". Its why so many people instantly react negatively to the term, they assume its discussing the individual, its not, about about the mindset enforced that is passed on with every new generation. I was lucky to avoid being trapped in that thanks to my being raised outside of the school system and being on the spectrum I couldn't pick up nearly the social cues needed to feel the pressure to feel like I needed to conform.
Men and women both enforce this mindset. If a woman has also bought into toxic masculinity they will treat men who cage themselves inside of it better and want nothing to do with those who are free of it. Its part of why it took me until I was 30 to have a real relationship.
Toxic masculinity is bad for everyone. There is no one way to be a man, you don't lose you man card for liking certain things or doing certain things. You just might get treated like trash if you do and no longer be recognized by the toxic masculine cult as a man.
The people that matter will recognize you for who you are not for what twisted "virtue" signals you give off. I think toxic masculine infantilism is probably one of the worst natural logical conclusion to toxic masculinity.
Masculinity as we have it in the west wasn't even really a thing until sometime before WWII, what a gay scare was happening, and there was a fear of not enough men with fighting spirit, never mind the Spartans were gay as hell and could slaughter people with ease. Each generation the restrictions that define a man keep getting tighter and tighter to the point that having the vulnerability to make friends as an adult is too gay for men in the cult, leading to loneliness on a scale we have never before seen in history.
For the rest of the world being a man is all over the place on how you are defined as one. But the US especially can only look inward so most don't realize that men all over the world life outside of this cage and are still men. Are we against men or masculinity? No we want you to be able to define those terms however you choose and be treated as a person with all the respect you deserve due a person. But being a man baby or demanding a man abandon half of who he is for some stupid made up set of rules is hurting every including those who maintain it.

What enforced standards, for example? Can you name a few so I can understand you better?
