NEW HORIZONS!!! My dad worked on this craft! I watched it go up when I was 6 years old...

"as seen by the New Horizons spacecraft" . This is what we dreamed of from the time of the first moonlanding:. clear sight on a new planwet.
I wonder what are the almost volcanic shaped structures opn the surface. How high are they? With the low gravity the slopes should be steeper............

Thanks for this. Images like this fascinate me. The thought that they can shoot a camera with lots of vibration on launch then navigate it accurately and reliably to a fast moving rock zillions of miles away then take crystal-clear photos despite the low temperature and then get the photos safely back to earth boggles my mind.
