Okay, the 8 Richter figure was announced on MSNBC but I suspect that was in reference to a 6.5 two hours-ish ago. I also suspect it's the same quake affecting everybody from Alaska to Hawaii, CA included. For more info on the big Russian quake, there's a hashtag for that: #Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy
